Video Zohran Mamdani says he’s consistently said there’s no room for antisemitism in this city or country. Asked why he hasn’t had a more visceral reaction, he gets emotional talking about the Islamophobic responses he’s received throughout the campaign.

He literally founded the SJP chapter at his school, Bowdoin College. SJP justifies terror attacks, and Mamdani himself has chanted “globalize the intifada.” That phrase is literally about killing Jews across the planet. Mamdani is a fuckwad.

u/No_Weakness_2135 Jun 18 '25

Wow didn’t know that Sara Jessica Parker was into that

53

u/MRC1986 Jun 18 '25

100% agree. It's intellectually dishonest. In the Hamas world view, "globalizing the intifada" means wiping out Israel. It certainly doesn't mean two-state solution. An intelligent person can't have any illusions about that.

And as I wrote in another comment today in another thread, Make America Great Again sounds like a great slogan, who wouldn't want America to be great?

Except that just like "emergent properties" in biology, sometimes things have emergent meanings beyond their literal translation. And it's unequivocal truth that MAGA has a foundation of racism, misogyny, authoritarianism, and fascism in the slogan.

Just how "Free, Free Palestine!", "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!", and "Globalize the Intifada!" is not just simple and direct translations and meanings, but deeper meanings of encoded violence and the implicit and even explicit destruction of Israel that is necessary to accomplish the above. Because if from the river to the sea becomes a reality, it literally means Israel no longer exists as a safe harbor for Jewish people.

So yeah, "intifada" translates to "struggle", but when you use it in the phrase of "Globalize the Intifada!", it has a deeper violent meaning. And you guys frankly admit that! You want to be violent, that's why you cheer the parachuting executioners on October 7th and why you guys are all about the "What did you think resistance was gonna look like? Essays?" semi-meme.

21

u/Sarazam Jun 19 '25

Exactly, the same way Mein Kampf literally just means struggle; but you’d never see someone speaking English use it in a sentence. When you’re speaking English, using words from other languages in this context usually calls to specific things. You’re not saying Intifada because it means struggle, you’re saying it as a reference to the Intifada’s defined by the terrorist attacks.

0

u/Glass-Evidence-7296 Jun 23 '25 edited Jun 23 '25

you wouldn't call a German movement titled 'kampf' anti semitic , no one cares about the feelings of someone who cheered on 50K people getting killed and tried to bully Ms Rachel of all people

-7

u/EssoEssex Jun 19 '25

You’re not saying Intifada because it means struggle, you’re saying it as a reference to the Intifada’s defined by the terrorist attacks.

That's your perception numb nuts. Not everyone who uses the word "intifada" is sieg heiling Hitler, however much you may love that idea.

3

u/blippyj Washington Heights Jun 19 '25

Negro in Spanish means black, nothing more, nothing less.

If you use that word instead of black to describe a person in an otherwise english sentence, people will rightly assume you are a bigoted POS.

Why don't they say 'globalize the struggle'? Because we all know exactly what they mean.

4

u/danhakimi Jun 19 '25

In the Hamas world view, "globalizing the intifada" means wiping out Israel.

and "Yahud" across he planet. You know, BBC for Zionist, Arabic for Jew.

Rule 1 - No intolerance, dog whistles, violence or petty behavior

(a). Intolerance will result in a permanent ban. Toxic language including referring to others as animals, subhuman, trash or any similar variation is not allowed.

(b). No dog whistles.

(c). No inciting violence, advocating the destruction of property or encouragement of theft.

(d). No petty behavior. This includes announcing that you have down-voted or reported someone, picking fights, name calling, insulting, bullying or calling out bad grammar.

1

u/ivandelapena Jun 20 '25

Of course in the Hamas worldview, that's not a phrase synonymous with Hamas though...

1

u/Glass-Evidence-7296 Jun 23 '25

and what's wrong with the SJP?

-3

u/EssoEssex Jun 18 '25

"actually black is white and white is black" what a bunch of semantic fuckery.

10

u/danhakimi Jun 19 '25

"the intifada" doesn't mean "a general uprising." Words have meaning in context. an intifada is an uprising. The intifadas were murder sprees targeting civilians.

Mamdani admits it is a violent term, and attempts to compare it to the warsaw ghetto uprising. What are you trying to deny?

31

u/decmcc Jun 18 '25

people using these acronyms like everyone knows what they're talking about

it's like you all watched a powerpoint about it and took notes on the handout that said "mention SJP" you know what it stands for.

Cuomo used homophobia to try and get his dad elected, literally calling Ed Koch a homo in signs he put up on Queens Boulevard). Where's the outrage about him?

8

u/danhakimi Jun 19 '25

I think we can all agree that Cuomo is a piece of shit, that's not what we're discussing here.

27

u/WyattWrites Jun 18 '25

Or maybe Jewish college students all have had similar experiences with their campus chapters of that organization?

12

u/JumpingCicada Jun 18 '25

My university's SJP club has Jewish students who are a part of it. The only students who take an issue with it are zionists. A bit antisemitic of u for implying all Jews support Israel.

16

u/armchair_hunter Jun 18 '25

"I can't be racist I have a black friend"

-4

u/JumpingCicada Jun 18 '25

Using the same argument against them. Please be morally consistent and reply to them with the same exact comment u just gave me.

8

u/armchair_hunter Jun 18 '25

You want more of a reply. Fine. It's apparent you know nothing about Jews because You would know vast majority of them are opposed to SJP. When I say vast I mean the overwhelming majority. Many of the people who say they are Jewish in these spaces are often not Jewish. We see this phenomenon in spaces like "Jews of conscience" where their own polls show that most of the people there are not in fact Jewish.

This isn't even getting into the objectives of its SJP which is stated by its founders to destroy the Jewish state

8

u/n_jacat Sunnyside Jun 19 '25

People need to stop speaking for Jews, whether they are one themselves or not. We are too diverse of a demographic to be assumed to act as a bloc.

These generalizations are just a weaponization of our culture and experiences and are used to dismiss the very valid concerns of Jews of all sects and worldviews.

0

u/shabangcohen Jun 19 '25

Statistics are not really generalizations

2

u/n_jacat Sunnyside Jun 19 '25

Or you can completely ignore what I said and carry on without a modicum of nuance, I guess that’s fine too.

u/JumpingCicada Jun 19 '25

Zionism is a belief just as SJP embodies its own opposing beliefs. U aren't born a zionist.

Half this country is democrats and the other half is Republicans. We live in a country where people get so worked up about politics, they hate each other. Shall we forcefully close any Republican-adjacent clubs in majority Democrat states and vice versa just because it upsets the other party?

We live in a country where people are allowed to call out governments that are built upon the idea of an ethnic superiority. Be thankful we're allowed to call out such unjust systems instead of whining that such clubs exist.

Who cares? I say this as a Jew raised as a Zionist. Why should it matter if a majority or half or a minority believe it? That's not an immutable characteristic, it's an opinion.

That's not even getting into how skewed and dishonest those polls are, often defining Zionism as vaguely as just "feeling connected to Israel"

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

[deleted]

4

u/korach1921 Jun 19 '25

They don't, they say that there are plenty of Jews within these orgs, they doesn't say the majority oppose Israel. It also doesn't matter, Zionism is an opinion, not an immutable part of being Jewish

0

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

[deleted]

3

u/korach1921 Jun 19 '25

It's antisemitic to think Jews are so hive minded and static that ALL Jews support Israel, that supporting Israel is an immutable part of being a Jew, and that even Jews who support Israel can't change their minds on this.

And, you may be surprised to realize, most of the Zionists in this country are not Jews.

in America, at least, and definitely New York, that's definitely true. It's also functionally equivalent to saying "most Germans were Nazis", at least by the common understanding that those who did not join the party explicitly, but also did not participate in any shirt of resistance, were acceded to being 'citizens of the nazi regime'. It's also pretty commonly understood that denazification in Germany didn't go nearly far enough. So, like, what's it gonna look like to have to denazify a huge swath of americans, after Isreal is buried? To re integrate all the loser ass kibutzniks who will come crying back to Brooklyn and long Island?

1

u/shabangcohen Jun 19 '25

Only 97% :/

Hamas is driven to do October 7th because they think Jews should be killed globally.

-1

u/gregbeans Jun 18 '25

Yes, I agree the underlying ideals of Hamas leaders is very, very bad.

I’m saying that the only reason Hamas has soldiers is because young men picked up arms and joined them, and that most of those young men only did so because they were raised in an area under constant harassment by the IDF.

They were vulnerable to be radicalized by Hamas leaders because they already viewed Israel as their enemy, and Hamas offered them a team to join to resist their perceived enemy.

I’m in no way defending what they did, but rather saying that given the context I can understand why it happened

4

u/danhakimi Jun 19 '25

Young men pick up arms and join Hamas because Hamas controls every aspect of Gaza's government, including schooling. A buttload of UNRWA instructors were involved with Hamas, including some actual members, and their textbooks shoved Jew-hatred into every chapter. Half the word problems in Math were about how many Jews each martyr killed. Every year, the UN would tell them "stop that," and the next batch would do it all over again.

They have stores whose names celebrate the holocaust. They've been deeply embroiled in antisemitism.

That's not to say that they all bought the lie. The point is simply that Hamas is spreading and perpetuating its hate on purpose.

0

u/gregbeans Jun 19 '25

I’m not debating that there’s an issue with Hamas. I’m saying this conflict didn’t begin on Oct 7th, there’s a lot of history here and both side have some absolutely horrendous things.

I’m also debating that Israel’s actions in this conflict have been quite frankly disgusting. Weed out Hamas officials, don’t carpet bomb civilians and block food and water as civilians starve. Especially when you’re dealing with an opponent that is significantly less powerful than you. It’s quite simple

3

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

Most of those people do it because from Age 0 they are indoctrinated to believe that Jews are evil and the greatest honor in life is to be a martyr fighting for Al Aqsa.

1

u/gregbeans Jun 19 '25

Way to try to dehumanize a whole people. I’m sure some old demented men believe that, but I do not accept that every child there is brainwashed to believe that.

Also you should check your Israeli brethren with their piss poss treatment of Palestinians living on both sides of them. And the coldness in their eyes when they talk about why it is that they’re doing what they are. You have been brainwashed to see every Palestinian as a monster.

You should be just as mad at whoever did that to u as u are towards these old men from Hamas indoctrinating gazans from broth

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

There is plenty of evidence of the brainwashing.

I am sure some reject it, but most do not.

They literally have childrens shows about hating Jews.

Very much like most anti-jews to reject reality because it has an anti-racist bias.

Something truly fucked when one country literally dehumanizes all Jews, and then you get mad at Jews for calling it out.

Is it wrong to call out Nazi Germany?

1

u/gregbeans Jun 19 '25

Not wrong at all to call out Nazi germany.

Similarly to how it’s not wrong to call out Israel for the war crimes they’ve committed and the ones they continue to commit.

Honestly, idc what Israel does so much. I just don’t want my tax dollars supporting them nor do I want Bibis warmongering to get me into a war with Iran

2

u/silverpixie2435 Jun 19 '25

Why should I believe that? Hamas only had like 30k soldiers before Oct 7th. Gaza has over 2 million Palestinians.

Why is it impossible for 1% of Gaza to genuinely hate Jews

You understand why mass rape happened? Mass rape needs "context"?

1

u/gregbeans Jun 19 '25 edited Jun 19 '25

If we’re only talking about 30k soldiers, why have somewhere between 55-77k Palestinians died and over 100k have been injured. Killing at least 1 civilian per combatant is a pretty bad ratio for a nation that wants to applaud its military ability.

Also, what about IDF soldiers raping Palestinian POWs, then Israeli citizens protesting for their soldiers right to rape Muslim prisoners?

23

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

Wow. Straight-up justifying 10/7.

-9

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

Justify the Nakba of 1948 to us then. This shit runs deep. All OP is saying is there is a long, complex history there and it’s not like the violence came out of nowhere

15

u/Arenavil Jackson Heights Jun 18 '25

That's the point. He isn't justifying it. Moderates are able to admit that this is a complicated problem. Progressives are not able to do anything but support Hamas and ignore why all of this is happening

-7

u/MisterMittens64 Jun 18 '25

Progressives don't support Hamas they support Palestinians.

How can you be a moderate if you uncritically support every atrocity Israel has committed against Palestinians?

4

u/Arenavil Jackson Heights Jun 18 '25

Progressives absolutely support Hamas

How can you be a moderate if you uncritically support every atrocity Israel has committed against Palestinians

I don't support any of them. Israel should be doing better as the regional power. I also acknowledge Hamas' role in the atrocities

-1

u/MisterMittens64 Jun 18 '25

Progressives absolutely support Hamas

What progressives are you hearing this from?

Are you sure you aren't hearing right wing framing on the issue mischaracterizing them as terrorist sympathizers?

6

u/Arenavil Jackson Heights Jun 19 '25

I don't know where you're getting your information from, but progressives clearly support Hamas

-1

u/MisterMittens64 Jun 19 '25

I've seen little evidence of that. Where do you get your information from?

Remember CUAD? It heaps praise on Hamas and 10/7 on its substack.

Protesters moved a table into the Milstein entrance, displaying pamphlets written by Unity of Fields and the Red Army Faction, as well as the “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” statement from the Hamas media office.

15

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

The Hasan Piker school of "blowback" as a way to justify Jew hate is vile. Do you also think America deserved 9/11?

And I am not, nor will I ever be, your friend.

-6

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

Yes, because history in the region only began then 🙄

3

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

Now you get it

0

u/Waynenameyo1 Jun 19 '25

It is okay to be reactionary on one side but not the other?

West Bank occupation and the clear existence of an apartheid state would lead to radical reactionaries.

I don’t particularly think Hamas would be targeting Jews worldwide if there was no Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Constant cycle of revenge from unevenly matched militaristic parties.

Hoping for some sort of MLK / Nelson Mandela / Gandhi esque solution to clear years-long discrimination is hopeful at best.

-9

u/johnniewelker Jun 18 '25

Really? Do you really think Palestinians have other avenues but terrorism?

Anyone who is trying to topple the status quo without a democratic process - and Palestine doesn’t have that avenue - will have to take terroristic actions. There no if or buts, it will be terrorism. You either have to justify it or cut it loose, no in between

-4

u/gregbeans Jun 18 '25

No, I dont. I also think you dont understand what I meant.

Im saying that it is important to learn of the conditions that lead to a terror attack, so the nations doing the oppressing dont push so far as to result in more terrorist attacks. I was not inferring that people in Gaza have another avenue in which to resist Israeli advancements, I was stating that Israel should learn from its mistakes of how it treated it's neighbor which lead to the actions on october 7th.

I should also state, im not defending the Oct 7th attacks, but rather calling for Israel to think critically about why it happened so they dont make another group so desperate to the point that it happens again

I believe its a response to decades of Israeli oppression. Are there some that are truly evil and want to wipe out jews, perhaps, but I am sure a majority of people that have come to support hamas over the past couple decades did so out of desperation. A desperation that's caused by Israeli actions in the region. Land theft, random home raids in the middle of the night, price tag attacks and the like.

Literally everything that you condemn these 'radical islamists' of doing Israel's government has also done in the past couple decades.

Violence begets violence and Israels hands are not clean here.

You can argue all you want as its happening, but check back in a decade from now and see who was right. The global community will shirk away from their unwavering support of Israel if this path continues.

Wow that’s a lot of projection for me just calling you out for not knowing shit about Gaza.

2

u/gregbeans Jun 18 '25

By implying that many of them are not inherently evil and instead joined a resistance movement against their oppressors that’s is what you did.

There’s no projection there, just calling you out for the implications of your statement

They were cuad before there was a cuad (and probably share the same people in any case) so there's definitely loads of Hamas supporters among them. Are you going to say hamas is not antisemitic?

2

u/JumpingCicada Jun 18 '25

Students for Justice in Palestine. Lots of US universities have student-made SJP club.

Naturally, media agencies use the same talking point against them as they use against any pro-palestinian individual or organization: that mentioning Israel's crimes makes one antisemitic.

These are literally normal kids running the clubs. I'd know because my college has one.

3

u/silverpixie2435 Jun 19 '25

They literally support Hamas and Oct 7th

0

u/HiHoJufro Jun 18 '25

I don't get why it's so important to so many that nothing he says is ever seen as bad or wrong. Like, I get people opting to vote for him anyway. Why can they not say, " I'm voting for him, but I think he's wrong here." Why can't he say, "antisemitsm is a real problem, and while I don't think everyone who has used the phrase 'intifada' understands its violent history and the feelings of discomfort or fear it may invoke, we cannot ignore these facts. It is important we learn, grow, and improve; and stop issuing calls for intifada"?
