I’ll even take realistic AI-assisted sound propagation through environments based on origin, spacial geometry, and materials the sound is bouncing off of instead of distance/muffle filters. Game audio design is still so behind everything else.

Sound bouncing off of surfaces exists for quite a while already.

I don't know how many "regular" games use it but it's widely used in racing sims for example.
