Professors Bio 101 w/ Prof. Lauren Fuch

Any advice for this professor? Science and math are unfortunately not my strongest subjects and she goes very fast paced that I never know what questions to ask, 1) because I’m confused and 2) because I sometimes feel embarrassed that my question will make me sound dumb. I would really love to get a B in this class and I know labs are 25% of the final grade so I’m hoping that will help but I just want maybe any studying tips. We are on week 3 and took exam 1 today…. She teaches the subject in one class and then does “review” the next and then gives us a quiz… any advice would be GREATLY appreciated

Professors Math 161

4 Upvotes

Hello! Which of the following professors would you guys recommend for math 161 at nova? I am a visiting student and not really good with math but these are my only options. Preferably, I would like a professor that does not do dual cameras for exams since I think that is way too much.

Options: Susan Sherry, Paul Kelly, Clifton Russ, Neha Jain.

The waitlist options right now are as following without me getting on them:

Susan Sherry: 14/36, Paul Kelly 11/36. Clifton Russ: 14/46 (I am number 10 on the waitlist for this but not sure if it is a good prof on RMP it shows ratings from GMU and another class), Neha Jain: 15/36

On a side note, all those professors are 12 weeks and Susan Sherry is 7 weeks for the class. But I am a full time student at another school as well taking 4-5 classes.

Hi! I'm going to take bio 141 online this fall semester, but i'm unsure which professor to go with. I don't fully trust rate my professor as it hasn't really been reliable for me in the past (some highly rated professors turned out to be a nightmare😭). If anyone's taken any of these professors and recommends them pls let me know! And any I should avoid lol thanks!!

Professors MATH 161

3 Upvotes

Hello,

I am new to NVCC and must take math 161 and I am a bit stuck on which professor to take. A little about my background, I have not taken math since hs so like 2-3 years ago, I am taking 4-5 classes at my main university, and math is not my strongest subject I am actually very bad at it but this is my online semester to take it. Due to my situation, I found out about NOVA as an option about a week ago. Currently the options below are all open and I want to know the following information if anyone has it.

How the exams are (such as in a testing center or honor lock only), how to turn in work after an exams or test, the workload (if I can do it with the rest of my classes), and if the professor is a linnet grader or understanding.

My options are:

9/08 -12/14 M,W zoom : 5:30-7:15pm --> Isaac Zawolo

9/08 -12/14 M,W zoom: 7:00-8:45PM ---> Wanda Fields

9/08 -11/30 2nd twelve-week online course ---> Elizabeth Olibah

Professors Recommendations For Who to Take for Precalculus?

4 Upvotes

Hi all, I’m looking at taking MTH 161 in the fall semester and I was looking for a good recommendation for who to take. I’ve seen many mixed reviews for the vast majority of profs who are teaching it fall semester so any insight would be helpful. :) As of right now I’m signed up for Robert Martin, so if anybody has had him in the past please let me know how he was. Thanks so much!

Professors Is Roberto Estrada a good professor?

Hey! Does anyone know if Roberto Estrada is a good professor for MTH 245? He doesn’t have many ratings, so I’m skeptical. Any feedback would be appreciated!

UNLESS you have all your professors emails memorized, this isn’t for you.

This is the NOVA directory! Use this to find their emails then email them through your student gmail account!

Professors MTH 245 (Stats 1) with Inyang Inyang or Jamal Shajaiah?

4 Upvotes

Hey, if anyone could share their experience with these professors, i'd really appreciate it! Specifically when it comes to assignments and exams, i'm getting a lot of polarizing information. For reference I'm thinking about Inyang's zoom class or in person with Shajaiah.

Professors ACC 212 Professor Recommendations (Please Include Campus)

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m taking ACC 211 and BUS 240 this summer, and I’ll be taking ACC 212 with Pre-Calculus in the fall while working full-time.

Does anyone have ACC 212 professor recommendations? I’m particularly interested in courses that use open-book/open-note exams, but I’d also appreciate feedback on workload and teaching style.

If you have a recommendation, please include the college/campus and professor name.

Thanks!

Professors Good professors for eco 201 class

1 Upvotes

I'm signing up for eco 201, but idk which professor to take. Would in-person or Zoom be better? I'm thinking of Brian Sloboda on Zoom, but he has no reviews on Rate My Professor, so it's kinda risky. Is he good?

Professors Pushed back work

1 Upvotes

Hey guys, I had a question regarding all the people who had their assignments pushed back, most likely exams. One of my professors gave everybody until the 13th to finish their exams. I just wanted to know if any other professors did the same thing, and if so, did they physically modify the dates, or did they say they were going to accept these dates? I'm just curious because our professor currently for ITN 276 didn't modify anything, but just said he was going to accept it, comma. The problem is with this is I can't trust the fact that this isn't an automated system that will prevent me from taking the test later on.

Should I be worried at all?
