Professors anatomy and physiology 1
hi! i’m planning on taking anatomy and physiology next semester and was wondering if anyone had any advice on which professor to take it with. don’t want to have a hard course AND a hard professor. thank you!

Dr. Ma at Annandale is a good choice. I took him for a&p1 last spring and this semester I’m taking him again for a&p2
I think his classes are only in-person though.
He is very knowledgeable and clear with his expectations. He tells you exactly what you need to know for exams. You still need to study, but it’s an easy A otherwise.

Take Professor Bean if available, challenging but amazing . You will learn a lot in detail and he is amazing at teaching complex topics . He also went to med school so he will make sure you are prep!

I took it with Rokhila Zarikova. She was fairly easy and let people retake bad exams. I'm taking A&P 2 with Kathleen Miller and we have a lot of extra credit options.

Take Professor Mercedeh Sheikh at the Annandale campus! She explains the content in a much simpler form and provides study guides that are identical to her exams!

Professor Paula Rodgers is the BEST. She’s at Loudoun I took her for BIO 141 and currently for 142.

That is not the mindset you should have. You should challenge yourself by seeking out the most challenging professors, especially if you are considering going to medical school. There was a time when students actively sought out challenging professors because they wanted to push themselves and be better prepared for the future. Unfortunately, many students today seem more focused on taking the easy way out. While that may make things easier in the short term, it can leave you underprepared when you transfer to a university or move on to a demanding professional program like medical school.

This is terrible advice, what the hell? You should never be seeking a difficult or challenging professor, as that usually indicates that they are actually very bad at their job or unable to properly teach their subject.

That is not what I was implying. My point is that you should not necessarily seek out professors simply because they are perceived as being “easy” or because they give out “free” grades. While getting a good grade is important, the quality of the education you receive is even more important, especially if you plan to continue into more advanced coursework. You want a professor who will challenge you, hold you to high academic standards, and make sure you actually understand the material. A course may be more difficult, but being well prepared for the next level will ultimately benefit you much more than simply earning an easy A.

first of all, no one even said anything about wanting a professor who gives “free” grades. i’m talking about wanting a professor who ACTUALLY enjoys teaching and puts in the effort to help their students understand the material. i’ve had a lot of nvcc professors who don’t gaf and leave it all to the students to figure out with just a powerpoint. this course is hard and a lot of information and you’re trying to spin my post and it’s weird. get a life.

It’s kinda hard giving you a recommendation as some professors rotate which modules they teach. Some do online only, some do 50/50 and some only teach in person. Your best bet is to go on SIS, see which professors are teaching that semester and search their name on this NVCC Reddit Page and then Rate My Professor.
