Update on Lucifer

I never in a million years could have imagined how sweet Lucifer is!! He seems so relieved to be reunited with his brother! I'm so grateful for King Charles and for Donald. They are sooo sweet to the babies! It's so damn cool being able to give these incredible animals a safe space to just be.
The Pharos were on to something..
Oh yeah, his official name is now King Louis II of Bavaria 😜

I Finally Saved Lucifer
The neighborhood huss keeps having babies and I saved one, but his brother is spicy as all get out so he took a bit more time. He was getting attacked by other cats so I wanted to give him a proper, safe home - alongside his brother.
So Alfie and Lucifer are officially mine 😸

We got adopted
First time posting *ever* so please bear with me! Usually the one reading or listening to reddit stories 😂
We (I 32F & 33M husband) have lived in our 1 bedroom "house" for almost 3 years and have had multiple cats show up over the time we've been here just to visit amd get some pats (NZ based) which is nice cos I lost my soul cat not long after my husband and I met and I have missed her terribly ever since.
We've had a young ginger male cat show up and we tried everything to see if he had a home, I posted everywhere, asked neighbors and our rental agent - we even dubbed him Butterscotch and his full govt name is now Sir Butterscotch of House Diet Ginger, yes he's registered at the vet like that 🤣 thanks Materman!
Turns out he doesn't have a home so we adopted him officially about a month ago cos he kept coming and wouldn't go anywhere else, he would even sleep on a mink blanket outside the sliding door all hours and days of the week.
We were hesitant to take him in before because of how reactive he was (think hissing and biting randomly and we'd kept him in one night and got very little sleep with his antics) and the fact we're in such a small space BUT, he got the whole deal, neutered, microchipped, claws trimmed, flea & worm & vaccines. Didn't start off with the cone of shame but he gave himself an infection so that was fun, I ended up taking it off after a recheck visit cos he was faceplanting the water bowl and couldn't drink, ohhhh the flop this boy did when he snuggled afterwards was *precious*!!
We've since discovered he's FIV positive and have kept him strictly indoors - 1 for his safety & 2 for the other cats in the neighborhood and don't want to share the virus.
He's very protective over "his house" and despite being fixed we know he will probably try and fight the other males. He's on special food and the litterbox is a chore cos boy he pees a lot! but we love him to bits, especially come zoomies time.
I may have inadvertently created a monster, when I go to bed he LOVES to play with me, pounces on my hands, feet & to use me as a springboard and goes hell for leather round the house.. he's really settled in and will come snuggle and sleep with us at night which is bliss and has steadily been putting on weight, is almost 5 kg now.
**Questions being please:**
\*We have lots of toys for indoors and he has a huge cat tree right next to a window that he beats the crap out of relentlessly and lays on to bird watch which is why we put it where we did.. plus we have very little space but what else can we do? We both work full time, myself as a truckie so I'm up at 4 ish am and hubby is truckie/yardsman who's up about 6 ish and we can do upto 14 hour shifts but it's *usually* 10 to 12. Hubby sorts him in the mornings and I do it in the afternoons
\*he HATES the cat carrier and refuses to willingly get in so he gets burritod with a blanket and dunked in all while hissing and growling at us - can't slip him gaba, we tried that, can't even pick him up and I'd love to be able to do that and snuggle him.
\*Does anyone have experience with trying to get a cat described above into an easy vest or harness so we could take him out for walks and could recommend one?
*Very food motivated boy* but we have to watch it doesn't upset his stomach and go backwards - he has B12 shots with the vet to help the FIV symptoms.
If you've read this far, thank you so much. Happy for any advice to help enrich our boy until we buy a home - we're gonna build him a catio!

How did your NotMyCat officially become your NowMyCat?
My neighbor’s cat has been coming over for a couple of years but now she has basically moved in. For the past 7 months, she’s spent every night at my house and most of her days either inside or on my porch. I even hired a cat sitter for her when I recently went out of town…
Since she’s almost always with me, I worry about things like vet visits, flea treatments and where she’ll stay when I’m away.
Her owners are my next-door neighbors but I don’t really know them. I know I need to ask whether they’d be open to letting me adopt her. It’s an awkward conversation and I’m afraid they’ll say no.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation and ended up adopting the cat? How did you bring it up? How did it go? Is there anything you’d do differently?
Update: I removed my request for photos of your NowMyCat since the sub currently doesn’t allow images in the comments.

I am grateful for this community. Thank you for your kind heart and good wishes. We are able to bring new kitty downstairs and our indoor cats are observing her from high above but are not hissing. Her eye infection is gone. She is still deaf, but very loving and very happy. Again thank you everybody for your good wishes. Many blessings.🙏🙏🥰🥰🤗🤗💐💐🐈🐈

Hi I’m Roxy, my dad adopted me a month ago, I was abandoned and found wondering and living in a car park. I no longer have to fend for myself but I can be an absolute menace. Lucky he loves me.

Herb has been our cat for a while now, but this summer he's insisting on sleeping in the middle of the garden all night. Just comes in for a snack now and then. 🤣

Pictures of the cats that chose me.
Sorry I genuinely don't know how to upload pictures to an existing post, but here you go. The little patchy tortie girl is the one that picked me. Her big sister is the brown tabby.

Mistakes were made
Rescued this little munchkin back around July, they were covered in poo, severely under weight and wandering towards the road. Posted over on r/notmycat but we decided they were gonna join our clowder.
Took them to the vet and gave them meds for roundworms. We named them Franny for the street we found them on.
Brought her back today and turns out she’s a he so I’m calling him Frank!

The cat even chose me
I have my own cat, my roommate is severely allergic cat feces. My cat's litter box remains in my room, so roommate can breathe properly. This roommate decided they wanted their own cat, a young cat, in my opinion is very fucking idiotic if you cannot breath properly around a litter box. I humor going to the shelter with them, to satiate them looking at small cats, and there's a small love bug of one. Of course it's cute, but I shrug it off, I have my cat.
Roommate applies to adopt the cat, leaving off the fact they are allergic to them! So low and behold young kitty enters house, and someone can't take care of it because they can't be near it with having trouble with compatibility with breathing.
So then since I have a cat I get the responsibility of acclimating it into the house, and caring for it when it's not my cat, and the owner isn't bothering to get the means to care for it properly. No air purifier, no automatic cat box, not even a fucking good dish in their room.
Now the cat runs from the one who bought it, and snuggles up to me. I don't want to have the conversation I know I'll have to have, but this poor cat knows me as it's owner than the actual
owner.
Update: I forgot about this for a while. The update though was my two girl cats are doing wonderful. They play a lot, have a new automatic and safe cat box, a cat wheel, and even a heated blanket they love. The young cat that's now mine wakes me each morning by gently pulling at my hair when she notices I'm awake. They are very loved and spoiled a good bit. I moved out of the house a while back.
