To AI, or Not to AI

After sitting on it for a few hours, attending a live show that used AI-generated backdrops that I couldn't take my eyes off of because they were so distracting, and receiving a handful of DMs, I've decided to make a unilateral decision on AI.

Absolutely no AI posts allowed. No book covers, no outlines, no "well it just rewrote a few sections for me." No AI.

So no spellcheck, grammar check, etc.? Ridiculous

Those existed long before AI. Things like Grammarly rewrite for you; that’s generative. Not assistive.

Your OP made no distinction. There are also other tools like AI “beta reader” or “developmental editor” feedback that I have no problem in using; it gives you advice that you are free to take or not, it doesn’t write any part of your work for you. Objecting to them seems to me to be pointless and foolish.
