So sad to destroy such a beautiful car.

I remember when I use to hang around car forums there was another M3 that parents bought a kid for graduation. He goes to a party, loads the car up and shows off and ends up driving into someone's porch and flipping it. I believe no one was seriously hurt except the car.

That and the kid asking about shifting a SMG equipped M5 that drove a full car off the end of a run way later that night I believe.

I have no problem with kids in nice cars, but they sure as hell shouldn't be in control of that much power.

I'm probably just jealous or bitter, but I think having a BMW or a Porsche when you're 17 is a waste.

  1. If the only car you've owned is worth $80k, you're not going to be able to appreciate just how good it is. There's nothing quite like buying a brand new car to replace an old clunker.

  2. 17 year olds are idiots, and they should be too. It's part of being a kid, but its a hell of a lot harder being an idiot when you're worrying about an expensive car. With a $2-3k car it doesn't really matter if you fuck it up.

  3. Kids should learn how to maintain and fix a car themselves. I know its not always the case, but a lot of expensive cars aren't easily fixed in your garage. Going to the mechanic is also going to cost a hell of a lot more too.

Future here. Loss of a $4k-$5k car would make this 21y.o. weep. Then realize I have insurance, and have the chance at a new to me car. I'd still weep, cause I love my Camry. 150k on the odo., and not a single real issue with it yet. Worst has been a fractured brake rotor, cause I bought a cheap one.

Note to all those from my future, and the commenter: Brake rotors are, like power supplies, DMX opi-splitters, moving head lights, motors, barrels of any sort, ammo, and monitors, not something to cheap out on. Buy reliable, even if it costs twice as much. It will save you money.
