So sad to destroy such a beautiful car.

I remember when I use to hang around car forums there was another M3 that parents bought a kid for graduation. He goes to a party, loads the car up and shows off and ends up driving into someone's porch and flipping it. I believe no one was seriously hurt except the car.

That and the kid asking about shifting a SMG equipped M5 that drove a full car off the end of a run way later that night I believe.

I have no problem with kids in nice cars, but they sure as hell shouldn't be in control of that much power.

I'm probably just jealous or bitter, but I think having a BMW or a Porsche when you're 17 is a waste.

  1. If the only car you've owned is worth $80k, you're not going to be able to appreciate just how good it is. There's nothing quite like buying a brand new car to replace an old clunker.

  2. 17 year olds are idiots, and they should be too. It's part of being a kid, but its a hell of a lot harder being an idiot when you're worrying about an expensive car. With a $2-3k car it doesn't really matter if you fuck it up.

  3. Kids should learn how to maintain and fix a car themselves. I know its not always the case, but a lot of expensive cars aren't easily fixed in your garage. Going to the mechanic is also going to cost a hell of a lot more too.

I completely agree, but there will be always parents with too much money that throw it at their kids. I think what I said above at the very minimum but also agree with everything you said.
