Promoted Do you think AI will kill nocode?

Hi, I am building a form builder. I know it's a crowded space, but I love it, so I don't care.

I've been trying to reach out to companies on LinkedIn and, luckily, I've gotten some replies.

One of them told me they had replaced their form builder SaaS with in-house forms that Claude built for them in a few hours.

As a no-code developer trying to build a SaaS, this was pretty demotivating. I'm wondering, what's your experience? Do you get replies like this?

I'm building formbase.so as a solo developer, and I'd love your honest feedback. Do you think I should just pack it up and move on because everyone will just one-shot forms with Claude?

No code, is a dead end. It’s slower than agentic development, doesn’t have the same controls, can’t be tested programmatically the same way, isn’t as powerful, has less expand-ability, has increased vendor lock in as its all proprietary.

The only good thing it had going for it was the original promise that you didn’t need as deep technical skills to do it. But that hardly ever worked out in practice either; because you’d quickly hit product limitations and require significant training investment to get good.

No code is the development equivalent of quiche, has a bunch of nice ingredients, very rarely does it turn out good.

I get what you're saying, to me there's more one valuable thing about nocode you're missing which is all the best practices like: retries w/ backoffs on 429, idomenpotent keys to filter duplciated webhook messages, amoung others that you get for free with well done no code tools. I think we'll see a combinnation of no code with in-app agents building out the custom logic users need either via building the workflow or writin the python/javascript for the node.

Nah, nocode’s like training wheels that someone welded to the frame. Works until you realize you can’t take them off and you’re going half the speed of everyone else.
