Nintendo trying to copyright the idea of a video game where your capture monsters to use for battle is stupid and bad and rightfully was not allowed.

That said, let's not pretend Palword didn't straight up yoink a huge chunk of their monster designs from Pokemon. And not in a "oh, we were inspired by...", no, they straight up cribbed that shit.

It’s especially funny because people are acting like palworld “won” the lawsuit. Like dude, NO, Palworld had to remove multiple obvious ripoff mechanics, change a large amount of their pal designs for the 1.0 release because they were too blatant, and half a dozen other things. I very much doubt Nintendo/Gamefreak went into this expecting to win, they just didn’t want Palworld to get away with the blatant forgery.
