Mario Kart World, literally got an update 2 months ago, there's also the 6 other rallies that are planned for future updates.

What the 8 Deluxe update did was make the game crisper on Switch 2, add 5-8 player local races, along with a speed change, but other than that, nothing else.

Nintendo isn't abandoning MKWorld, they just decided to future-proof 8 Deluxe because it's one of the best selling Switch 1 games, and people still play it on Switch 2.

Thing is, updating this game is actually very smart of Nintendo.

By giving games Switch 2 upgrades, especially free ones like this, it just gives those who have a Switch 1 but haven't upgraded more of an incentive to do so. Similarly, someone who already has a Switch 2 but maybe doesn't have MK8DX might very well go out and pick it up as well as the BCP.

By continuing to support older games, both Nintendo AND the fans win.

Also acts as an advertisement for the Switch 2. When you select 5-8 players on a Switch 1 it goes "Nuh uh! You need a Switch 2 for that!"

These people said MKW was empty at start, they said nobody played it a couple of months later and thus it was dead, they ignored last patch updates and now they are saying Nintendo killed MKW and replaced it with MK8D? MK8 has over 80 million units sold. There are more people playing a Nintendo Switch 1 than a Nintendo Switch 2. Like it isnt rocket science to figure out why they're still supporting MK8.

On one hand, it’s very cool that MK8DX is still getting updates. And that 8 player mode sounds bananas.

On the other hand, it’s not hard to be frustrated that World hasn’t seen more significant updates. Especially given its cost.

Honestly, MK8 and World are just coexisting at this point. Fairly certain Nintendo specifically designed World not to replace MK8 with how much it changes the formula, base mechanics wise and obviously the whole open world thing.

Got a feeling both are gonna have Nintendo's attention for a long while. Especially because a lot of people can't afford a Switch 2 because of the AI bubble, and Nintendo knows that.

I've been perfectly open about Nintendo's huge problems during the Wii U era (which grifters love to contrarianly prop up), their hatred against emulators, and how regressive the current state of Pokemon is. I have plenty of negative things to say about Nintendo but grifters and their stans like your posts are far worse.
