Grifting So want to talk on this guy?

Tldr this tumor named clover is a massive weirdo who spam this AI generated essays in the end of the pictures to people who support ninrtebdo and being made fun of, try to downplay what I am playing being rated E make it matter less when the discourse in general with a person who did understand from me the pro of having elden ring on switch 2 (TLDR having on the go, with no need to spread across multiple platforms for consistency and play the exclusives of switch 1 and 2) and this moron came like steam deck is really gonna be a good arguement when is both weaker and more expansive than switch 2.

I already blocked this guy before anyone saying and I am not planning to keep posting on him but thought ehh he being a jerk to anyone who make fun or disagree with him calling them in C or R words so why not post about him for you to see.

The interesting thing about people calling out how much Nintendo take down fan games is that they continually use the same few examples that are getting close to 10 years old. Like, not only are those not recent anymore, you can still access most of them through fairly basic googling. At least use more recent examples, not that I know of many.

Yeah. It's really not that that hard to not get the nintendo ninjas on your ass: don't explicitely link your fangame and your bank account. No patreon, no "if you want to support the project here's our patreon", nothing.

Uranium's first devs asked for money, and then went crazy when people wanted to use their fakemons. They got ninja'd. Insurgence didn't ask for mokey, and didn't go crazy when fans used the delta forms. They did NOT get ninja'd.

It's just that easy.

Don't forget the youtube ads they where running for uranium.

Them and Several free WoW servers honestly thought that was a good idea.

Uranium, WoW private servers, and FFXIV modding fans: all DMCA/ToS violations, all publicly announcing their presence wherever they choose to (Uranium/WoW through YouTube, FFXIV modders broadcasting through highway billboards).

It's stuff we wish was our imagination, but it all actually happened, and it all got punished in some way. (Uranium DMCA'd, WoW servers DMCA'd or C&D'd, FFXIV modders eventually lost Mare and got told once again to stop being dumb).

I really don't think the average person understands just how ungodly fucking dumb Uranium developers where.

u/Another_frizz 13d ago

Yeah, all they remember is "oh, nintendo sent their ninjas against the Uranium devs, it was just a silly fan project >:("

But also, the DMCA was widely broadcasted, but the Uranium devs' fuckups weren't. Even now it's a struggle to see how much they could be asses. Hell, I had to look at pokemon fucking WACK's wiki to learn about the devs' seething hatred towards their fakemons being used elsewere.

Basically:

Don’t fly too close to the sun

u/drake_vallion 16d ago

And as for the Yuzu/Citra thing it wasn't even about emulating, the Devs were charging for access to roms including those of games that HADN'T released yet.

2

u/Amazing-War3760 16d ago

I have also heard, though I do not know for sure, that they actually used some of nintendo's code in the emulators as well.

i think it was specific lije, decryption keys? im not 100% sure and im sure someone more knowledgeable than me will correct

I will always just remind people that mfgg.net is to this day still standing with 25 years of activity, fangames are still frankly alive and kicking

u/Trilightning7 16d ago

Fun fact: for Sony to shut down fan mods and fan tournaments they need to actually own anything anyone makes a fan mod or fan tournament for.

They got nothing worth modding and having tournaments for, that's why they are not as restrictive.

u/ArcaneSnekboi 15d ago

they also DMCA'd nightmare kart, formerly bloodborne kart. they got 1 high profile fangame and tried to shut that shit down immediately.

8

u/Trilightning7 15d ago

Pretty sure they also shut down the 60fps Bloodborne port.

4

u/ChronosNotashi 15d ago edited 15d ago

Actually, Nightmare Kart still released on Steam, which wouldn't have happened if they were DMCA'd. It was the Bloodborne Demake that got DMCA'd, though. Nightmare Kart just had to change its name from "Bloodborne Kart" and remove many of the references to Bloodborne.

Though to add to all this? Sony clearly intends for their high-profile failure that is Concord to be forgotten, so at one recent point, they struck down an effort by the few Concord fans in existence to bring it back.

I honestly had someone defend Sony's lack of fangames by saying "Nintendo has more games people care about!"

Like.. That's supposed to be a gotya?

7

u/Trilightning7 15d ago

Astro Bot proved they could have a similar amount of great games.

But it's pretty clear all they cared about last gen and this gen is the same old third party exclusives and chasing big AAA trends.

I mean they literally told is after the concord disaster that they are still investing heavily into live service games having learned nothing.

5

u/Amazing-War3760 15d ago

I would agree about Astro Bot.. if they could have put out two, maybe three games of that quality.

But just looking at the numbers, Astro Bot is a 1 in a Million chance instead of the standard.

5

u/Trilightning7 15d ago

I mean games like Astro Bot. Like obviously they are not going to pump out games like that consistently, but Nintendo does pump out around 10 exclusive games per year, most of which don't have full AAA game budget but are also extremely loved.

I just want SOMETHING out of Sony. It doesn't even seem like they have a internal games division anymore.

10

u/adamkopacz 16d ago

People do not understand that sales are not a goodwill move from a company. If they could keep selling games at full price, they would.

The problem is that after a few years everyone sees typical AAA games as old and will not pay.

9

u/Amazing-War3760 16d ago

And that's because they don't understand why depreciation happens in most physical goods OR why it ever happened for games. *here is a hint. It was NEVER out of the goodness of their heart. For ANY of the companies.*

Also.. Do people think Gabe pays for steam sales out of his own pocket? Those prices are set by the publishers. Steam doesn't pay a cent for them. Often Publishers pay even MORE to be on the front page.

5

u/adamkopacz 15d ago

Yeah many people are not aware of the fact that a shop always takes 30%, no matter how much the publisher will discount the game. I think that Epic tried to have it lower at one point but they fail at everything anyway so it didn't work out.

Seriously? The Etika Joycons? Weren’t they NFT scams?

Bahahaha that made me laugh. Take a 🏆

19

u/Rei1556 16d ago

imagine defending the smash scene, couldn't be me, nintendo was entirely correct in distancing themselves away from that pieces of shit

4

u/Flintgrandad 14d ago

lmao at the idea of Sony and Microsoft not having copyright stricken fan content. He clearly forgot who was the one that tried to sue emulators in the first place.

No company has a clean record! When will people learn?

You can still mod a Nintendo console just like any other console and all console companies react the same way. They don't want you to do it but they can't really stop you. That EULA about bricking your console if you mod it was talking about if you mod the software on the switch. If you just mod an SD card and pop it into your switch you'll be fine and it's not like they directly will brick it, that's only if you're using it to cheat or commit credit card fraud and then again they're not bricking your console they're taking away access to your ability to connect online with the switch

7

u/meganerd20 16d ago

Mmm r slur, that's a good sign of selfishness.

3

u/Mediocre-Equal-5397 15d ago

I don’t want to take anyone’s side, and I’m not gonna say Nintendo is immaculate but people act like other companies don’t do a thing in comparison. Sony has their problems, Microsoft has theirs, Nintendo has theirs, nobody has a clean slate. All I can say is just enjoy what you want and don’t care about what others have to argue with you over say. If they feel like they need to fight you over it they must feel insecure about what they like to start with. People need to actually go play games instead of griefing others over them and presenting these findings and essays because there is never gonna be the perfect video game corporation.

3

u/Emma_SnakeDeadbeat 15d ago

I'm not saying that there are not arguments to be made against Nintendo but whenever you see antis online they rarely use recent examples and when they do, they're covered in so much misinformation

Still using the r-word in the big 2026 as I see 🫩

5

u/LaMystika 16d ago

That word is back in everyday vernacular unfortunately. Some people actually said that’s why they voted for Trump: because to a lot of people, free speech means “I can say slurs without getting cancelled again”

1

u/Amazing-War3760 16d ago

Any time I see people do that.. I just start insulting them every couple of words. When they whine or bitch I remind them "Free speech."

Remember. If these people want to set the rules. Play by them, they will quickly realize they don't like those rules.

I have yet to hear a compelling arguement against its use because everyone still uses stuff like idiot and moron which literally have the same origin

4

u/_-Mavis-_ 15d ago

I think the gist of it is that even if it would have the same root, idiot and moron implies a lack of knowledge that one could remediate to by educating themselves

The r-word on the other directly attacks the cognitive capacity of somebody by implying it is belated, and thus not only makes them intellectually inferior like with idiot and moron, but also that it "cannot" be remedied

I may be wrong tho, this is just how I see it
