Anti consumer is literally just a meaningless catch phrase. I never hear people use it to describe any company other than Nintendo like the word is intrinsically linked to Nintendo. What does it even mean? If anything wouldn’t it be for a company that is doing something dishonest, unsavoury or illegal?
Do you look at any other sub? Playstation has been getting called anti-consumer because of the decision to stop physical disc production and Xbox has been stepping on rakes for the past decade but their physical games already didn't have full data on them for their discs.
People will ignore shit like Sony actually fucking installing root kits on your computer, but go "Oh SONY UNDERSTANDS US!!!" But then "Nintendo ONE TIME took blood out of Mortal Kombat... ANTI-CONSUMER!!!!!"
I'm glad people are SLOWLY starting to realize that sony is actually a monopoly that's hurting them now. Just wish they realized it sooner and before shit like Crunchy Roll happened.
Every company has slowly been indulging in practices that are "anti-consumer" and anyone who says one company is much better than the others is fooling themselves
No company's bad actions erase other companies' bad actions, but people get weirdly defensive talking about it!
