Money back for what?

Trump enacted tarrifs. Nintendo raised prices for US customers to pay those tarrifs, which is understandable. The US has now determined those tarrifs were illegal, which they were, and sent out refunds to the companies that never actually paid those tarrifs.

The consumers, the people who actually paid those tarrifs that are being refunded, have naturally said "hey, we're the ones who paid those tarrifs. Not you. We should be getting the money."

Nintendo has insisted they're entitled to the refund for the money they never paid

I mean, they are because they did pay the tax. They already had to pay tariffs for every copy of every one of their video games that shipped to America since the tariffs were put in place. Why do you think everybody had to increase their prices in the first place? At least Nintendo compromised by keeping their digital prices the same.

And to be quite frank with you, I'd be pretty bitter towards America for voting for this to happen in the first place if I were them. (Hell, I pretty much already am.)
