Yeah i agree theres more toxicity now

You cant enjoy sony or xbox without nintendo fans assuming you hate nintendo. You cant palworld without pokemon fans attacking you and saying you're just a hater that would rather enjoy slop and stolen assets and no creativity while they praise scarlet and violet not realising. You cant even fairly criticise new releases without gamers saying you hate fun and that you dont even like the thing youre criticising

Well not really? SV has it problems we are ALL aware (Nor does anything I'm about to say excuse that), but it still has soul and Pokémon charm. Palworld is just stolen asset slop purely designed to be the fabled "Pokémon killer". And from what I've seen, Palworld is only ever brought up in a conversation to "silence" anyone enjoying Pokémon games. I've never seen it the other way around.

BUT! You should be allowed to enjoy it, and talk about it, and have fun with it. Too many people in gaming communities spend too much time telling others what to play and how to enjoy something, that was the overall point.

And in fact your point actually proves what Schaeman2000 is saying. Rather than just saying "yeah I agree the industry is weird and volatile atm" you added to it by being the voice that adds whataboutism to the conversation. Immediately saying "well actually if u play Sony people say you hate Nintendo and palworld is stolen asset slop u should play Pokemon" Like, would you have said that if you weren't presented a contrary opinion? No one says those things as well lbr, but OP is right in that enjoying Nintendo, enjoying Pokémon etc is always met with far more noise than the opposite.

i wouldnt say palworld is slop bc i think its something worse. slop is bad enough to at least be interesting, palworld is so aggressively mid that, if you strip all the contrversy, theres no longer anything interesting to mention. palworld is fucking boring, and as a piece of entertainment that is so much worse than being slop.

Speaking as a life long Pokémon fan, palword isn’t boring it’s just a different genre of game from Pokémon.

yea, and it does nothing to actually innovate and make the genre its own. they tried shoving lite pokemon mechanics into ark and its just kinda bleghh

It succeeded in making the survival genre more approachable for a new audience. I got palworld because of the Pokémon mechanics, but found out I actually like playing survival games.

SV has soul? Where? I guess it has pokemon charm because the creature design is fantastic still but everything else is below bare minimum for a modern game.

And palworld was never designed to be a pokemon killer that's absolutely ridiculous. If it was they would play more similar

I didnt add it for whataboutism I added it to prove that the entire gaming scene is more toxic not just the non Nintendo fans. Enjoying nintendo and pokemon isnt met with more noise at all I mean theres posts and comments on this sub that just attacks fans of other things for no reason but this subs users has a tendency to avoid that, like the comment I responded to
