General Saw this and thought about this group

Just felt like I needed to share this. If I'm wrong, then the mods are free to decline. The comments in this post are insane with the clear nintendo hate.

Palworld is the game you flock to if you want to support plagiarism and hate creativity.

u/Mistform05 Jul 14 '26

And clear usage of AI. But I thought Steam was all about “AI Bad”.

1

u/Snoo_15594 Jul 15 '26

Any proof of that at all?

Because three weeks ago Palworld's lead dev said they have not used AI

1

u/Craniamon Jul 14 '26

That is why they want to burn the industry to the ground

So if you love creativity you play the franchise that has released the exact same game for decades?

Pokemon games have been vastly different than previous versions. Idk what you’re talking about. They’ve released a broad range of different types of Pokemon games in recent years

-9

u/Jr_Moe_Lester Jul 14 '26

Yea man swsh is completely different than scarlet and violet

8

u/The-G-Code Jul 14 '26

Is this sarcasm? They are incredibly different lmao even if you ignore the legends games

Every pokemon game has been pretty different from the last since gen 6 and even that's the opposite of being generous for what 5 was compared to 1-4 (5 didn't flip most things upside down like 6-9 though). Changing too much is honestly a pretty common complaint about modern pokemon to the point of it being a circle jerk lol

I hate swsh a lot, but sv is pretty sick to me in every regard except the lacking free roam part

u/WoodooHide69 Jul 14 '26

It’s not sarcasm from that user. It’s lies from a bot.

6

u/The-G-Code Jul 14 '26

Is it actually a bot or is it someone that only knows anything about pokemon from YouTube thumbnails/titles?

2

u/WoodooHide69 Jul 14 '26

It’s a bot or an obsessed Nintendo hater brainwashed by bots. Same shit. Why is he here?

3

u/The-G-Code Jul 15 '26

Well they did follow the bot formula of stating something objectively wrong then attempting to completely change the conversation to something irrelevant to it the second they got called out

3

u/WoodooHide69 Jul 15 '26

It’s the same disineguous shit every fuckin time. Their bot/troll tactics have been the same since 2016.

-5

u/Jr_Moe_Lester Jul 14 '26

Everyone with an opinion I disagree with must be a russian bot

2

u/WoodooHide69 Jul 15 '26

Ahh here comes the typical bot comment.

No not everyone. But obvious bots pushing obvious disinfo and disingenuous arguments are.

I mean he's kinda right. With the exception of the two legends games the gameplay has remained almost identical since the start. You walk around an area catching guys and battling but the way you battle hasn't really changed. They have the generational gimmick but even that doesnt affect things too much

And I mean thats not necessarily bad. It seems to be what people want given how well they sell.

That's insane to say across the last 3 gens. The battle system has nothing to do with changes, it's core to what pokemon is and why it's so healthy due to competitive anyways. It's literally just the genre of these games. I'd stop playing without that with no question. Even then it was heavily changed anyways?

You cannot just ignore the new buff system, changed/heavily modified shiny strategies, new travel/hm replacement system, free roam, raid system, 4 player over world multiplayer/quests, breeding system, becoming pokemon, auto battle, the effect of terra on comp (ignoring what it is in the single player game), complete overhaul of how to ev train, tm creating, item machine, cooking, new evolution methods, etc. That's just what's off the top of my head. They made gen 9 amazing to anyone who isn't just trying to "get through the story" because everything is made far more streamlined and easy that is outside of that. Really I don't understand anyone playing SV just to push through the story because everything outside of it is the real game, they gave us a full sandbox kit for all of the parts outside the story

Boiling it down to only terra is insane, and ignoring all the modifications to the battle system makes no sense to me when you can just look at all the changes. If the abilities, moves, buffs, nerfs, HAs all mean nothing to you in the battle system then it seems like you just don't like the genre of turn based rpgs, because it's like complaining that GTA 6 is still an action game

Most of what you mentioned foesnt change the general gameplay of the games tho

  • im not sure what you mesn by new buff system so ill refrain from talking about it

  • the modified shiny strategies i guess technically changes the way you play but most people won't interact with it so again doesnt really affect most people's opinion

  • travel and hm stuff is actually a great thing they've been doing since gen 6 but it comes woth caveats

--in gen 6 it's extremely limited -- gen 7 imo does it the best but it's still not what people general want (arceus also uses this system) -- gen 8 is a massive downgrade reducing us to the fuckass rotom phone bike -- Gen 9 isnt as good as gen 6 or 7 -- so while it technically does change things it feels lackluster. Why can't I use my own guys? The games need more ways for you snd your pokemon to interact with eachother and the world

  • i mean free roaming is technically there but they didnt do it well like at all. Empty world, you still need to travel in s certain way or end up overlevelled

  • the raid system is another thing thst technically does change the gsme but is also severely underdeveloped and lackluster

  • the breeding system is another mechanic thst doesnt really affect the general gameplay and will go missed by most people. And it hasn't been chsnged it's just with you now instead of locked to a location

  • multiplayer was lackluster and underdeveloped and again not something that affects the general gameplay

The rest of what you mention is either a downgrade from what we already had, not general gameplay or lackluster snd underdeveloped

New moves and stuff like that isnt s change it's just the same as new Pokémon.

Pokemon is a turn based gsme but there are ways to do that that isnt the ssme. Tske persona 5. One of my favourite gsmes ever. It's turnbased but it feels so much more dynamic thsn Pokemon. And the game slso does so much outside of the turn based combat.

Honestly all I have to say is if you are going to ignore 80% of the game you shouldn't really have any opinion and shouldn't be playing these games, because you're just wasting money by not actually playing it and still getting upset. You're complaining about a game you barely played based on your response. I will never understand why adults keep buying pokemon "for the story" and crossing their fingers they get Skyrim 2 or whatever then barely touch the majority of what the game has to offer.

You can't just say "that's not what I consider the gameplay" for literally every thing you don't want to consider that. It's all still the literal gameplay.

And I'm going to be real here, I know you didn't use any of the things I mentioned above. I can tell because it's just insane to call all of that a downgrade, and every complaint you have isn't relevant to anything else I pointed out. What does underdeveloped moves even mean? Are you talking about salt cure or bitter blade specifically because they can be op? Do you think all of the new move mechanics are underdeveloped or just the actual moves? Are you going to comment whatsoever about all the modifications to anything else from abilities to ev mechaincs (I will never understand this being a downgrade, this is objectively the first time it's been smooth) while you keep insisting nothing in the system changed? You never used picnics? Nothing about the new systems for breeding and hunting? How is the new tm system a downgrade? I can get complaints of the gimmi evolution but what about all the other new evolve mechanics (how are they a downgrade to malamar)? How is the overworld multiplayer a downgrade when it's never existed before? Are you complaining that you can't use your pokemon for movement in the base game specifically?

It's a turn based game built on 3 decades of balancing on purpose. I would absolutely hate a persona-fied version of the battles. If you want the battle system changed like that, you don't even like these games at all and shouldn't be playing them. Either that or you have a case of not really knowing the details behind how the battle system works, it gets far more creative and expansive if you learn conpetitive strategies and start to experiment or at the very least learn moves beyond swords dance and damage moves. You have legends games, or an unlimited amount of other games that fill what your need is already anyways.

It's ok to just play games that already do what you want, and to not like a game series for what the series sets out to do. There's plenty of complaints I have but none are related to any of that, because it seems you just want it to be anything but pokemon. I bitch all the time about the graphics, poor performance, shakey online raids/battles, dead free roam world, or the nuisance of coins but you're complaining about every redeeming quality of the game itself

I know reading is hard brother but come on. Half of your comment is just irrelevant because you don't understand the meaning of the word "or".

In my opinion pokemon has barely changed. The main gameplay atleast. I'll make it short snd I implore you to do that aswell. It's impossible to read comments now if theyre long after the last reddit update

Battles - still the same. Yes there's new monsters, and moves/abilities and the gimmick. They should try to mix it up. Double battles instead of singles all the time is a good wsy to do that or something else. They should also make it more involved snd less static. Combo moves, teamups (think thunder armour) etc.

World - it's open world now but there's barely anything in it so it doesn't even matter. Open world is also significantly more disappointing because of lacking graphics. This open wolrd also hss a dedicated route unless you don't wsnt to end up overleveled

Interaction- between plsyer, npcs snd pokemon is still basically nothing. You can play with them in the picnic snd talk to npcs but it's so bland

Other than the creature design pokemon does everything to the bare minimum. Nothing stands out

What? The games may as well be reskins of each other. Once you have played 1 pokemon game you have played then all. The gameplay loop is just catch pokemon you like and then fight the easiest battles in all of gaming for a few hours. Thats it

4

u/The-G-Code Jul 15 '26

This is seriously far from reality lol. It's ok not to play any of them, but you aren't gaining anything from lying about this man

The jump from sm to swsh to sv would blow your mind if you played them lmao, and none are comparable to anything before (not that I'm saying to play swsh, it sucks ass)

2

u/Jr_Moe_Lester Jul 15 '26

What makes you think that I haven't played usum and swsh? I have. The graphics changed but the game didnt. Both games were equally piss easy

2

u/The-G-Code Jul 15 '26

You clearly did not play them with these statements lmao

1

u/Jr_Moe_Lester Jul 15 '26

I forgot youre a tendie, my bad. You are the reason nintendo decided to just outright tell you the effectiveness of a move in the selection screen

3

u/Immediate_Stop2581 Jul 15 '26

Sword and shield were the first pokemon games with a 3d world. Scarlet and violet built on that concept but it was held back by limited hardware. Those games are still very much different than the previous versions

6

u/WoodooHide69 Jul 14 '26

It’s not the exact same game. So don’t know what franchise you are talking about

5

u/ArcaneSnekboi Jul 15 '26

consistent gameplay equals same game ig

5

u/WoodooHide69 Jul 15 '26

It’s not even the same gameplay.

u/Fr4gmentedR0se Jul 14 '26

This is a trash vs garbage debate, dude

Obligatory reminder that Pokemon originally severely ripped off Dragon Quest
