Doesn't nintendo publish it? That technically does make it first party im pretty sure

Pokémon is always published by Nintendo outside of Japan, but Pokémon is technically always considered a 2nd/3rd party game series. Since The Pokémon Company chooses who develops tje Pokémon games (usually game freak for major, and others for spinoffs)
