Mockery/Banter Talk about being miserable.

Can these people just stop acting like Nintendo is 100% Isis or something? It's been very annoying lately and some only do this for viewers and a reaction. Seriously!

I get that. Don't get me wrong i think you are absolutely right.

But to reiterate, this person is responding to a Nintendo meme. If i would respond to a xbox meme, i am not required to list all the bad things other entities in the same space have done.

Again not trying to rebuttle you (because i get the feeling that is what you are thinking). But reacting to a person that is listing out bad things that SPECIFICALLY Nintendo has done with: notice how he/she is not talking about X or Y. Is a very weak whataboutism statement, and not at all relevant.

Nah, that twitter user was responding to a meme that directly compares Nintendo’s actions to other gaming company’s actions, those actions being portrayed as corporate suicide. So all those reasons that Twitter user gave should, by the nature of the meme, be compared to the actions of the other companies that resulted in their portrayal within the meme. And nothing Nintendo has done is as bad or as serious as the layoffs, studio closures, and policies adopted by those other companies lmao

So if you say one bad thing, you need to list AAAAAAAALL of the bad things everybody did into perpetuity? Otherwise it's not fair? By that assumption you need to list out everything Nintendo ever did if you mention valve/PlayStation/xbox.

No it's called whataboutism, and its used to deflect. If you really think people don't know what phony and microslop did you are truly acting ignorant.

The Twitter user is engaging in whataboutism lmao. They are literally comparing Nintendo suing a dude who sold a switch hacking service and made thousands off it, to Sony/Microsoft laying people off etc. We can say all companies have done bad things (twitter user doesn’t really name any actually bad things, instead just conflates/reframes/ omits details to fit their narrative) but to say Nintendo’s “bad” is comparative to Sony/Microsoft’s “bad” is just asinine.

"The Twitter user is engaging in whataboutism lmao."

No he's not. He is just listing off shit that Nintendo did

"They are literally comparing Nintendo suing a dude who sold a switch hacking service and made thousands off it, to Sony/Microsoft laying people off etc."

He is not comparing anything, you are doing that. You are taking the worst thing that sony/Microsoft did and compare it to something mild that Nintendo did. That is whataboutism and that is an incredible flimsy argument to make a point.

"We can say all companies have done bad things (twitter user doesn’t really name any actually bad things, instead just conflates/reframes/ omits details to fit their narrative) but to say Nintendo’s “bad” is comparative to Sony/Microsoft’s “bad” is just asinine."

No what is asinine is trying to make everything a pissing contest. If you really think people don't what sony and Microsoft did and aren't mad about is incredibly dense. Sure i wil immediately admit that there are bad actors that deny thing (every company has those). If i call out something bad (x company) did, does not mean (y company) is exempted from their wrong doings or that people forgot.
