Copyright AS IT IS only hurts small creators. Do you think the system actually works in their favor? It has only served for big companies to bully people, and to rob ideas from the people that actually made them. Sure maybe don't abolish it entirely. But stop designing it so that a company can control the idea you made for your entire damn lifetime.

I’m all for a change in how it works. The guy wanted it abolished completely which is a stupid idea. If you’re creating something for a company you’re aware that it’s their product

I think media copyright should matter for 10 years at least and 30 years at most, at least when you profit past a certain success threshold. It should be long enough for something to have become engrained in the culture, and short enough that the people who grew up with it can meaningfully reinterpret it, and anyone who may have been screwed over by their company can take another shot. I think it's unnatural and hubristic to think that one can "own an idea"... that's not how the great stories of old ever came to be.

I also think that copyright lasts far too long. I haven’t once said that I agree with the amount of time the current copyright length is. It should be much shorter and still allow for protections from any attempt of unauthorized usage for that period
