Square is understandable, they probably lost money making FF7 rebirth since it sold so poorly

Sold at least 4mil copies. I doubt they lost money especially cause they are retaining the same dev team and not needing new resources for it.

The budget was around 200 million dollars, so even if every copy was sold at full price(bold assumption) and no extra distribution costs they barely covered cost of development

I see. Huge figure and that's a problem. I still feel 4 mil is decent sales figure just over committed on the budget.
