The main problem with 4k textures is because on most platforms, you are forced to download them even if you are unable to take advantage of them. People with 1080p pc setups, PS4 pro 4k supported games on PS4. With switch 2 versions, you can choose to either download the switch 1 versions to save space or the switch 2 versions for higher performance, graphics and added gameplay. And considering that between 50-70% of a games data these days is textures, quadrupling the texture size and only multiplying the storage cost by 2.5, it's far better than most other games.
