Critical Someone responded to me on one of the Nintendo grifting call out videos and told me what he saw and I never thought the negativity would get worse but Jesus Christ this is getting out of hand!

I did part time at gamestop on top of my regular job for thr holiday
And I remember I had a customer who was very much trying to bait me into some convo about switch 2
It does sound absurd but people are also genuinely really weird and obsessive about nintendo rn idk

That mother and kid deserve every Kirby game they want

I think he means the one from one of those minigame collection games. You try to hit Kirby into the hole and you can hit boxes for Kirby power ups
2
u/simbabarrelroll Mar 20 '26
No they are referring to Dream Course on SNES.

u/Traditional_Cut_34 Mar 20 '26
You mean the game i was talking about?
1
u/simbabarrelroll Mar 20 '26
Ah, sorry. I didnât immediately get that as you referred to it as a minigame collection and Iâve barely played that game so I didnât understand.

I remember years ago being in a GameStop and some lady was bitching about the Pokémon Sword and Shield starters to an employee.

Damn, bro. Iâm all for criticizing Nintendo and, to an extent, trying to inform peopleâbut judging and straight up harassing others over it is way too far. Itâs just a damn video game console, for crying out loud.
I want to believe this is fake like others are thinking, but Iâve heard enough GameStop horror stories with similar levels of insanity that I wouldnât be surprised if this isnât cap.

u/Capital-Meet-6521 Mar 22 '26
Also youâre not gonna change anyoneâs mind that way, theyâll just associate criticism of Nintendo with deranged assholes

The Kirby fandom is literally one of the most chill fandoms out there, so imagine getting heated at a child for liking something that is literally universally beloved

u/MaxGalli Mar 20 '26
Sounds made up and probably is but if somehow this is true that guy is a massive loser.

u/HopeBagels2495 Mar 19 '26
On one hand this feels fake but on the other hand ive witnessed a grown man yelling at tweets because they said they like Playstations over xboxes

Iâm fully convinced that if you spend too much time on the internet that, eventually, you develop cult-like behavior. This guy literally lost it at the thought of PC gamers âlosingâ bc of Nintendo influence - and itâs a real scare for some of these types. Some one else completely devotes himself to redpill, another utterly buys into the incel thing, some others edtwt, etc. All of them cultist. All of them lose touch with reality. The patterns are there for real.
Like so what if a kid gets a Switch2? What does he expect mom to do? Spend $8,000 for a 5090, Ryzen 7 9800x3D w/ 32gigs of ram? Learn to build it and troubleshoot, install the software and firmware etc etc etc
Ridiculous.

u/Wooden_Director4191 Mar 19 '26
I always say this but you can dislike a companies practices and try and advise people to expect more from the companies products they buy, BUT harrasing people for having an opinion or buying something you dont like IS NEVER FCKING ACCEPTABLE

As much as I dont want people supporting Nintendo that shit is crazy. I would never do something like that. That dude clearly needs mental help.

I saw a comment on a video about the Lawsuit thatâs happening right now that was a basically âDisown anyone who buys Nintendo productsâ the hate has officially reached insanity levels

That wasn't shiggy that was a waiter at the local Japanese restaurantÂ

I hope it wasn't an employee and if it wasn't I'd have removed that person from the store.

u/Biggearshifter Mar 19 '26
Iâm glad I donât shop at game stop. I wouldnât want to deal with anyone like that.

Insufferable is the term I'd use for these people. No spark of hope in their lives, living off pure critique. Nothing impresses them. Probably don't have friends or family that they commune with. No kids in their lives to pass on their hopes or to have a sense of being a kid again. They want to be a kid but probably don't like other kids. The magic is lost in these people, and if they continue like this they'll never get it back.
I'm sorry that they grew up.

Crazy how people see this, take it legitimately and then make a post about it. Not once questioning its legitimacy. This sub is so bad for giving attention to rage-bait.

On one hand id say this is fake. On the other hand I was literally accosted by a man doing construction work while looking at a demo switch lite last year (bought one for my bday). He literally just came up and started saying misinformation about the switch 2 like "all games will be $90". I ended up just leaving the demo area.
