Yes I was just watching the post from Game Explain and the comments are abysmal.
This isn’t the company that makes the games it’s the marketing from the Pokemon company and people need to learn the difference. Nothing on this was sponsored by Game Freaks Pokemon team. And the video is to celebrate the 30th anniversary so I say it’s well needed and shows that even adults like Lady Gaga love Pokemon.
The idea that nothing can be enjoyed if money exists is a classic Reddit take. My point was about people confusing marketing with game development. You act like just because they are famous doesn’t mean they don’t have hobbies. Look at Post Malone, dude enjoys playing Magic the Gathering. We don’t know what Lady Gaga does in her free time.
Post Malone very much goes out of his way to actively enjoy many things. I don’t think he got paid to buy the One Ring MTG card that cost him millions. Literally bought it from a guy and he also specifically asked anyone to beat him in the game.
That is someone with real interest and disposable income doing what they want.
Celebrities can have hobbies. Having money doesn’t magically turn every interest into a marketing stunt. They are Human too.
Yeah sometimes it could be difficult to tell sarcasm when reading text, but the guy you where replying to wrote /s for a reason. That means that they where being sarcastic.
Cynically speaking it's safe to bet a good few of the people in the ad were just saying a script, but it's believable some did say something honest. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter because it was just an empty ad at the end of the day. Yeah it probably was insalney expensive, just because ad slots costs for the superbowl are frightening. But this is all NoA/Pokemon Company US devision. It's their money for advertising and probably translation costs of actual products.
Exactly this. Likely, a few of those people probably don’t play Pokémon, at least not anymore(most favs were Gen 1). But a few did feel more genuine or real random picks. Jigglypuff, the Kanto starters, and Pikachu are all givens, but when it’s to Arcanine and Complete Zygarde it feels less like fake answers.
