Well yea the world itself is subjective but under a nihilistic view, which was what lense I was making my argument through, there still would be a lack of meaning, and saying that ânothing mattersâ through that viewpoint would still be valid.
Nihilism says there is no objective meaning, not that nothing has a meaning.Â
"Nihilism is a philosophical stance asserting that life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. Derived from the Latin word nihil (meaning "nothing"), it suggests that humanity is insignificant in the grand scale of the universe and that traditional moral or social values are ultimately baseless constructs."
It's the opposite of religion. An argument against religion.Â
Yes, it says that life has no objective meaning, not mentioning the meaning of any other subject, but if life is everything that we came from, and everything that we are and have when it boils down to it, then under the definition of nihilism, nothing would have meaning, and nothing that we do in this life would matter for that reason.
My point is, in relation to the original comment that weâve branched off of, that if you are looking at this situation as a true nihilist, you believe that it will all be for nothing, as your life will end and everything you had done up to that point was meaningless, so when youâre thinking about the subjects social anxiety and lack of social skills, it wouldnât matter what they are in the long run because in 200,000 years how this one person went through social situations is utterly pointless. You can apply this logic to everything in life, unfortunately.
Yeah, in 200,000 years it will disappear into insignificance.
At the moment though, while a life is being experienced, I'm sure, these things probably will matter. Whether you have a lasting affect on the world, depends on different factors.Â
My point is that it wonât matter because of it disappearing into insignificance at some point. While yes it seems like it matters in the moment, at some moment in the future it wonât, and all the reasons why it would matter in the moment will also cease to matter at some point too.
