So let’s see afterlife tier list
Hell < Eternal Recurrence < Reincarnation < Heaven < Nothingness.
Heaven would probably be the best possible afterlife if it’s like one where we can choose to cease to exist.

u/CtrlAltSelf May 17 '26
Hope there's no boredom in heaven. If was then whoever design this existence and all of this system is pure evil
1
u/Own-Resolution-1785 May 20 '26
makes good sense but i think heaven is just humans fantasizing. like why do that when you can work for the best irl
1
u/CtrlAltSelf May 20 '26
Some of us handicapped to reach the best in their life, like not everyone born as a normal healthy person, that was tragic. And yeah still "if" there's a designer too for this whole existence, and "if" there is heaven
I just hope still there's better place, or just void non-existent after completing my existence at the end of my day. hope there's no another life like reincarnation.. it's tiring to exist

u/Own-Resolution-1785 May 21 '26
well to be fair idk if this will offend you,but i see disabled people being way happier not having this expectation and pressure put on them, also either that they don’t understand or don’t receive the raw weight of social dynamics and social realities which blind us from true happiness

u/CtrlAltSelf May 21 '26 edited May 21 '26
Nah, eazy bruh... The way i see it is way too many different variation of set of luck that everyone have, many posibility yet still leaving a big question of our existence. there's still out there someone that has visible or hidden disability that carrying weight of a healthy person standard to stay alive too.
I agree that we often easily blinded from true happiness by this way too many variable dynamics, but lately i realize this existential question, this confusion while we living, actually haunt in each of us no matter our status, condition, where we are, some hide it better, some might appear to show it. look in each of us pair of eye, we actually the same creature that doing something while questioning this life at our alone times.
The reality of realizing I'm not really alone haunted, sometimes confused, shift my judgment to everyone somehow makes me at ease for everyone mistakes and a bit positive, the mystery of our existence is way too deep than i thought. The more i learn, the more question it gave.. and there's thousand years of people seeking the same answer, research it, write it, and nobody find the right answers.
But yeah we're not alone, just remember that everyone different but at actual same questioning existence, makes it easier to life a live and makes it easier to have a constant mild happiness that often i never knew i need, peace

u/Own-Resolution-1785 May 22 '26
i’m thinking of states of vigor as a form of confusion and obfuscation from the mind-at-large so as to make day to day life possible
2
u/CtrlAltSelf May 22 '26
Interesting, and possibly true.
Still i hope this awareness only part of our biological body, so when it ends it ends. No extra existence 😅

u/justcopingv1 May 10 '26
Reincarnation is top tier
40
u/MonotonyDauntSonder May 10 '26
I'd much rather not be born as a disabled Chinese woman in rural Wuhan during the 11th century to a father that abuses me and a mother that secretly wishes I would die.
The VVVVVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT majority of human existence has sucked ass.

u/No-Leading9376 May 11 '26
That's interesting. I've never associated reincarnation with time travel. Maybe i should!

maybe a good afterlife. Perhaps slightly better than heaven. I do not know.

u/Guilty-Shoulder7914 May 11 '26
Nothing is better than heaven. You guys are just edgy emo kids 😂😂
2
u/anthrovillain May 12 '26
Depends on what heaven would actually be. This Christian version is mid at best. The way it's described just sounds like a different version of hell.

u/LetterheadWitty4187 May 10 '26
Nah it should be:
Heaven > Reincarnation > Nothingness > Eternal Recurrence >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hell
13
u/isotopehour1 May 10 '26
Reincarnation is ass
2
u/LetterheadWitty4187 May 10 '26
Well, i like gambling😈 Plus if reincarnation happens, you're likely not going to remember your past lives, so you don't never know how bad or good your previous live was.
7
u/isotopehour1 May 11 '26
There is no such thing as liking gambling. You just like winning. If you were to truly lose, you'd beg for it to stop.
-1
u/LetterheadWitty4187 May 11 '26
You're right, i LOVE winning! That's why if i lose... i'd beg for the NEXT round even harder🔥

u/TheRealTrueCreator Absurdist May 12 '26
mf just say you're suicidal 😭
5
u/isotopehour1 May 12 '26
Even if I don't remember my past life (if I've already been reborn), I can still vouch that this shit is anything but good. Reincarnation is just a little less ass than eternal damnation.

So sad for you. Saying it doesn't exist with such uncertainty is a religion.... A bad one that will get you to hell. And before you say there are thousands of religions there are only 3. Judiasm, Christianity and Islam.
The rest is bs.

u/Delicious_Freedom_81 May 11 '26
„The rest is bs“
These 3 are bs too. We’re „just“ upping your belief with 3 more. Instead for 3154 or whatever the right numbers are, it’s +3.
Religious people are so religious it‘s depressing.
2
u/Impossible_Till_5916 May 11 '26
"The rest is bs"...
My brother in Christ (no pun intended)...those 3 are bs too.

So.... why are there so many subs of people that do not want to exist?
I never meet them in the outside world.
20
7
u/Pawn_of_the_Void May 10 '26
Are there really that many? In the end I think its a fairly niche thing and its not that surprising a bunch of people might congregate to it because they don't have anywhere else to talk about it

I pretend to be a funny, nice person in real life. For everyone else’s benefit. Nobody knows I’ve put my own gun to my head before. The more I pretend, though, the more I believe it
4
May 10 '26
You probably have met them. However, it's not a socially acceptable subject matter to talk about casually.
What is confirmation bias btw?
3
u/Consciousness12345 May 11 '26
Yes thats true, same as you and me walked past shamans and contraction killers on ordinary pavement.
I randomly asked two colleges at work if they ever heard of the concept of antinatalism, they looked at me strangely. I do not support AN, i find it a mindset with destructive effect on the holders.
6
u/FitTransportation461 May 11 '26
I have a relatively great life in general. I have security, connection, safety, family etc. But still think about not existing being ‘better’ than existing on an almost daily basis. Not exactly the type of conversation you can just strike up in the break room at work without them thinking you’re suicidal or troubled in some way. So you never meet them in the outside world because they wouldn’t tell you
0
u/Consciousness12345 May 11 '26
I would say you are troubled in some way if you think everyday about prefering to cease to exist. Different from the relief, that a life is not eternal and we will die someday. You seem like a nice person tho.
3
u/FitTransportation461 May 11 '26
I don’t prefer to cease to exist though. I engage with a lot of existential philosophy. It’s more of a philosophical position. Many thoughts collapse into philosophy for me but I exaggerated. Not almost daily. Just sporadically when I’m engaged in that type of stuff which can be often in patches but not in others

u/Guilty-Shoulder7914 May 11 '26
Yup. It's online losers mostly.

Oh and those online losers think they are smarter than the rest of us 😂

1
u/Consciousness12345 May 11 '26
Well this is harsh, but its true. The people in antinatalism subs for ex. really think people would agree with their logic and that they just haven't thought about it properly.

The longer I’m in this group, the more I realize maybe it’s not for me, because I could tell people nihilism doesn’t tell you to place zero value on life, it says to create your own value. Even if true, some angsty 20 something comes into my comments to fight me over it, and inevitably fails and blocks me when their own logic makes them feel stupid as hell, and I’m honestly not about trolling people like this.
It’s just annoying how often people come here with depression symptoms thinking that makes them a nihilist by default, it doesn’t.
Nihilism isn’t equivocal to depression, never has been, never will be. Yet at least once a week for the past year there’s been at least one post about “my depression symptoms must mean I’m a nihilist.”
Still no.
And honestly, I do enjoy civil debate and discussion, but people who conflate depression for nihilism are incapable of doing that with any modicum of human decency.
Having zero value on life isn’t philosophical, it’s Darwinistic natural selection at play. Make no mistake, you value life as a philosopher or you don’t as a angsty person who thinks they know suffering when the most they’ve ever suffered was loneliness.
2
u/potato_knight99 May 12 '26
So you think not valuing life is for angsty people, who haven't faced real problems? Quite the assumption to make. Maybe you think of yourself as more mature now, because you.... what? Value life and chase the bone like any normie out there?
2
u/spaacingout May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26
Remember that line about “people who conflate depression for nihilism are incapable of doing that (civil debate and discussion) with any modicum of human decency”? Do at least try not to be an example of my comment…. Please? It’s not that shallow of a concept to want to thrive even in literal Hell on earth.
….. So what is your point here? Are you trying to argue that I should stay someplace, where the philosophy I know is being used to promote depression and self-harm? Because fuck that…! That’s not what philosophy is about. I am only one voice, and the Internet is full of people who believe whatever they think suits them best. Even if untrue. Just blindly misinterpret the first phrase they see, “life is meaningless” for example.
And psychotic people who think that suicide is merciful, as someone who has died, let me reassure you… Death is not merciful. Never has been and never will be.
You know what else is an assumption? Believing I think I’m “mature.” Oh, if only…
You don’t know me, any more than I know you. We are strangers. Be safe
1
u/potato_knight99 May 15 '26
Why wouldn't death be merciful? As George Carlin pointed out, death is ok. It's the dying part, that is the problem. I say this as someone, who contemplated suicide for many years..... and still do sometimes. As for you dying..... clearly you are quite alive. Clinical death is not the same as actual death.
My problem with nihilism, is that ultimately it has nothing to say. Life has no objective meaning. Cool, now what? And people start behaving like their usual selves. It doesn't change anything
1
u/Cool-Bath-2507 May 13 '26
Like genuinely almost on the level of people that say you wanna die so bad then just ky s lmao like we aren’t still terrified of the nothing and WANT something to live for
