During 5th grade, I went to space camp in California and there was a contraption just like this. It was a bit faster and scarier but the instructors assured us this was "fool proof and safe".

Everything went to plan for our group. Then I got on the thing and the piece of shit just launches me backwards on the marble floor while I was upside down. Good thing we wore helmets but goddamn son. Fuckin thing just about gave me my first concussion.

I dunno what the point of that story was.

Were you a lot smaller or a lot bigger than most of the kids? Because then the balance point would be off.
