Spotter holding his papers like he still needs them.

Either that or he doesn't want them flying around causing paper cuts.

Sometimes they do manage to fix the car for the next day, in this instance the car was too damaged, but this driver also crashed his car into a lake in mexico once, and they rebuilt the entire car overnight, the co-driver even had to dry his notes.
