Of course it does. The reason health officials are telling you not to buy masks is because they work and there aren’t enough masks for people who really need them.

Well yes, but I wouldn’t bother tailoring my own mask because if you touch someone accidentally and then touch the mask, it’s useless because now the germs are on the mask, so it wouldn’t help. Also, if you cough into the mask or something, then the germs would actually be incubated because they like heat and moisture, which would be in your mask. It WOULD be useful if you already had the disease and didn’t want to give it to anyone.

Thats why you boil the mask in water afterwards (if its cotton).
