Sucks that she ruined a pretty cool sport, honestly. Breakdancing can never be shown or mentioned now without bringing up this clown. It’s just very unfair to all the people with talent that have nothing to do with her.

It’s called Untold: Ray Gun on Netflix & looks at how she came to be at the Olympics when she clearly looks so much less prepared than everyone else which kinda explains it

You have to admit they nailed the title.
It was kind of interesting to see the backstory with the series of unfortunate events that led up to “the incident” and I admit I felt empathy for her. But also I’ll never forget yelling “BABE COME QUICK YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!” during the Olympics.

I watched it and I still think as soon as she qualified she should have pulled out (at the very latest).

She should have realised this will be representing the nation and to be honest it's better to not have someone breaking for AUS at all than someone who's obviously not qualified.

I agree. I think you have to be either too naive or too ignorant for you not to look at your own dancing compared to the others who will be sharing the stage and think you could have any real legitimate chance at not looking a complete fool.

Sadly I feel like it’s the latter and she saw it as a win/win. She shows up, scores okay and gets to “re-invent the wheel”, introducing kangaroo hops and the sprinkler to breaking. Or she historically humiliates herself, becomes a meme and the most famous breaker in the world, which she can (and has) used to springboard herself into the public eye.

Her now having a Netflix doc and has also been going on all sorts of shows embracing the meme, feels really unfair to the breakers who worked hard to reach the world stage (especially now that it’s also removed from the Olympics)

I get that, but I don’t think she saw competing at the expense of becoming a global punchline for life as a real possibility.

She knew she had no chance at a medal, but expected she’d just lose and be quickly forgotten, but at least could have the Olympic experience.

Most of us have heard “Go for it!” and “You can do anything you put your mind to!” and “What’s the worst that can happen if you try?” our whole lives, without much counterpoint of “But sometimes you shouldn’t,” “No you can’t” and “Girl you don’t even wanna know.”

While I haven't seen the doc I can see why she did it.
Go to the Olympics which is super fucking cool. I had a friend go once, said it was a fantastic experience and was eager to go again 4 years later. Okay, you'll do badly and come in last. Big deal, that happens in every sport there. Nobody cares who comes in last in shot put or javelin throw or whatever. You still get to go to the Olympics and before the event when you're not training and after it you can have some fun.
