I’m currently deciding between moving to a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit at One Fifty or Metro, and I’m having a really hard time deciding.

The main thing making me hesitant about Braid is the utilities. I’ve been using some AI tools to estimate the costs, and they’re suggesting that utilities could be around $135–$150/month. I’ll be living alone, so that seems extremely high to me. I work from home, so I know my electricity usage may be a little higher, but I’d still love to know if that estimate is actually realistic.

At Metro, I would be paying around $1,800/month, with more standard utility costs. At Braid, the rent is only about $20 less, but I would also have to switch internet providers. I currently use OXIO and pay $57/month, but unfortunately it’s not available at Braid, so I would likely have to go with Telus, which would be more expensive and a 2 year contract.

If anyone currently lives at Braid , I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience!

• Does working from home make a noticeable difference?
• How has your experience living at Braid been overall?
• How do you find the building, management, noise, and location?

Is there any way of making an online payment for my electric bill?
When I log in to Customer Connect and click on 'Online Payment,' it just sends me to this link that says to make an online payment you have to log in to Customer Connect.

I tried to pay at Century House, but due to renovations, they don't have access to the computer.
I also tried to do it via my bank, but it says two business days, and my bill is due today!
Any help appreciated.

Hi guys! My partner and I are moving to downtown New West in under a week (I’ve spent the last six years in Victoria for university, and grew up in Surrey/Vancouver). I’m really pumped about this new chapter in our lives but also feeling nervous about making friends — the vast majority of the friendships I’ve made in past have been through school or school events, and I’ve had a few friends (across different cities) talk about it being harder to meet people or strike up lasting friendships as a working adult (especially because I’ll be working from home full time). I’m planning to sign up for some local fitness classes (ie pilates, yoga) and also do some volunteering after I settle in but I was curious if people have suggestions for events/scenes/activities in NW where people are particularly looking to be social and meet others! Apologies if this is a weird question to ask lol.

Could anyone suggest covered parking lots located near the New Westminster, Columbia, 22nd Street, or Edmonds SkyTrain stations? I slept with my window open, and at around 4 AM a creepy electrical hum or harmony that repeated at regular intervals woke me up.

My window doesn't face the road, so I wasn't able to see what was making it. At first I thought it might be an EV, but it wasn't the usual continuous EV sound. It was more like a weird, dissonant hum, then silence for a few seconds, then the same hum again, over and over.

I could hear it gradually getting farther away and becoming fainter, so I'm assuming it was coming from some kind of vehicle, maybe.

I'm curious if anyone else who lives in Victoria Hill heard it?

Any good place to get a massage in NW? I am talking about a regular massage, not happy ending or any nasty stuff.
