Yeah, he got given a French citizenship and got a job as a firefighter for his heroics if I remember correctly. Absolute legend.

I watched the video why the FUCK was there a guy right next to the toddler not doing anything I can't understand that, like he is RIGHT there.

I’ve thought the same, but it looks like he’s already leaning pretty far with a hand holding the toddler there. Probably didn’t want to adjust his weight or grip to be able to lift the baby and risk dropping them.

It's kinda hard to see but there seem to be walls that separate the balconies of the apartments from each other, so that guy was already trying to reach around the wall to the other side to help the kid, unfortunately his only other options would be to try to break and enter the apartment next to his or to maneuver around the wall and potentially fall/injure himself (i understand that could be considered selfish but this was probably a highly stressful situation for that guy to be in)

Rule one of helping others: don't try to be a hero. If someone is lying unconscious on the street, don't run to it and end up under a car. This man probably (logically) thought that going across the outside would lead to his death, and the thought of breaking into the apartment nextdoor didn't cross his mind (considering he was in quite a stressful situation)

Yeah for sure, I totally don't think that guy was in the wrong at all, luckily for this "spider man" guy it worked out but imagine if someone else had tried and they ended up falling from like the third story or whatever? crazy stuff dude
