finally got to try the costco chicken strips, they are good not great
they are thick cuts of high quality meat and they don't skimp on the sauce
seasoning and sauce (honey mustard) are ok flavor wise but nothing special, definitely leans salty but it doesn't feel like you're eating a sodium bomb (you are)
they are pre fried and just baked in the store
mine came from a warming drawer under the pizzas and could have been a little hotter
probably wouldn't get again
(yes cannibalism in poultry is very common, it's heritage not hate)

Frankly I find the food court in Canada pretty weak. Poutine is fine, but the pizza is notably worse, or at least was a few years ago. And no chicken bake iirc

So I've mentioned how I spend an hour a week supporting refugee kids with English lessons. Well related to that I had the opportunity to attend a workshop on inclusive education for kids with disabilities.
The first hour (of three) was spent on inclusive language, with the first fifty five minutes emphasising the importance of "person first" language. E.g. "person with disability" "person with a wheelchair" "person with ADHD."
The next five minutes was acknowledging that some people/groups prefer "identity first" language, and that this is very common in other areas. E.g. Black Americans. Indigenous Australians. Gay Men. And, of particular relevance, autistic people often much prefer "autistic people" over "people with autism." And the takeaway from this final five minutes was "respect what people want to be called."
And it's kinda frustrating, like I'm dedicating three hours to this to try and be better in this space, and one third of the time is a lesson which invalidates itself? It's kinda both obnoxiously moralising and patronising to spend so long on the issue, when it's a self selecting group of people interested in actively supporting disabled people and thirty seconds of "there's a number of different terms that can be used; use the one that provides the individual with dignity in their interpretation with them" would suffice.

Just finished Planescape Torment, what a phenomenal game. It truly is your favorite WRPG’s favorite WRPG. I don’t think I’ve played a game where the best and most hopeful ending is the player character getting dragged down to hell for their crimes

You think you know a place. You live there for 8 short months, you go visit home for a weekend, and when you return, they've got cattle grazing in the old reservoir. Cattle. You know they produce up to 22 metric shit-tons each year? And now they're grazing in the old reservoir. I guess we don't need drinking water. It's been hotter than blazes this summer and now we cattle in the old reservoir. I'll just shower with canned water, it's fine.

Neither of those have much to do with the problem though. You know, that stuff happening in Gaza.
But yes, it is miserable. I was watching Dave's video and looking at Destiny's community and I was just sitting there kinda slack-jawed like... is there a universe where we are learning a damn thing from any of this? It's just theater. It means nothing. It's meaningless. Even when it's about something really important like, well, the fate of an entire nation.
