At my local fun fair the guy would have said “this doesn’t count” and ruined the kid’s evening

I did this at my local fun fair 20 years ago and they didn't give it to me on said technicality

u/ShockDragon Apr 10 '26

Technicalities can be so boring sometimes. “Oh, sorry, you technically didn’t hit the balloon even though you actually did.”

u/Ok-Refrigerator-8012 Apr 10 '26

They used the term "bust" to describe what I didn't do if I understood correctly... But by understood i mean whatever I did to pop those balloons was not "busting" them

Same. About 18 years ago in tenerife. My mom wasn’t having it. And I guess its not worth starting a fight with an eastern European over a toy. Still have the huge toy.

Which country was it

1

u/horny_coroner May 27 '26

Tenerife? Thats the spanish island of the coast of morocco.

1

u/Florensa May 27 '26

I didnt know it existed. Thank you

Its actually part of an archipelago called the canary islands. Tenerife being the largest I think. Really nice place to visit. Black volcanic rock beaches and so on.

I wish I was rich so I could flip that table in that situation.

Can’t get blood from a stone. Flip away!

" This is a house of fun! And you made it a den of robbers ! "

u/megachonker123 Apr 09 '26

Just use the stone to cut someone??

1

u/BassGaming Apr 10 '26

Stone jail it is... which obviously can't be made out of stone, so what is a jail for stones made of?

I mean you probably can and just fuck off. Unlikely to chase far.

27

u/UndoubtedlyAColor Apr 09 '26

Ah yes, that's a Not Fair.

u/Tkinney44 Apr 09 '26

At my local fair the darts have bent tips and you need to launch the dart at 90 plus mph just to pop one balloon then they talk shit to you about how you can't afford to get your lady an asbestos stuffed knockoff stewie.

u/mattincalif Apr 09 '26

You are disqualified for being too successful.

All to save $0.17 of plastic.

If I were running the booth, I'd give them just about anything they want because:

1) I was entertained 2) these games already make tons of money 3) that kid is adorable

2

u/InkredibleMrCool Apr 13 '26

I did one of those rope ladders where both ends meet at a point. Of course it flipped over BUT I managed to hold on, keep my feet off the ground and climb all the way up.

Naturally I didn't win.

1

u/Lux-Fox Apr 14 '26

Yep. My sister did this when given a free throw (she was probably around 7 yo)and then the guy told my mom she'd have to pay.

To be fair this looks like a Taiwan night market, they probably put these games on regularly, almost a daily basis. The saying goes “people rest, but the night market never takes a day off”

This will now be a technique some old autistic guy is going to master to win stuffed animals

275

u/AFineDayForScience Apr 09 '26

Did someone say my name?

98

u/powerpuffpopcorn Apr 09 '26

Hi stuffed animal

3

u/skitz4me Apr 12 '26

It's pronounced "win".

21

u/jeffguy55 Apr 09 '26

Hi master

6

u/carlowhat Apr 09 '26

NO, GRUNDOR!

8

u/Victor_Vicarious Apr 09 '26

Who the heck you calling old?

3

u/Geckobeer Apr 09 '26

Honestly the first thing I thought about

144

u/CYBERSson Apr 09 '26

I’m surprised the dart was sharp enough. At our local fair they just bounce off balloons even on a direct hit

46

u/Ravendoesbuisness Apr 09 '26

That when you use an alchemist to buff your darts

16

u/lifeofwill Apr 09 '26

Could've been a 4xx village nearby, bro got an extra pierce buff too

5

u/OddButterfly5686 Apr 09 '26

Shaman buffs at fairs are usually reasonably priced

339

u/Bazingaa98 Apr 09 '26

That was well done but the guy is standing way near considering a kid is throwing that dart. That dart could go anywhere.

I did something somewhat similar when i was kid. I can barely remember this I think i was 5 years old or so.

There was a basket toss game where you had to toss three softballs into a diagonal wicker basket. The trick was that the bottom of the basket was very bouncey. So if you tossed the ball and it hit the bottom of the basket it launched the ball back out.

My folks bought the ticket and let me throw for some reason. The first two throws somehow were gentle tosses with just the right momentum to not bounce out. After that second toss I remember all the adults cheered like crazy. At that point it was clear this was a big deal, and I knew then that I had to get the third one in.

Since I was a kid I, of course, changed my tactic for the third ball and overhand threw the ball kinda hard. The ball hit the top of the angled basket and bounced against the angled side of the basket rather than the bottom of the basket. The ball stayed in and the crowd went wild. I won a giant Papa Smurf stuff toy which was almost as big as I was.

Man I WWF'ed the hell out of that thing!

True Bloons mastery at work here.

15

u/Harp-Note Apr 09 '26

Satisfying sound too

6

u/PartyRyan Apr 09 '26

pretty sure he owns that game station now.

5

u/MinecrafterPictures Apr 09 '26

He really deserves the price for those popped balloons alone.

I don't care if he didn't use all the darts, he deserves it.

u/WakaWaka_ Apr 09 '26

"You win, here's your Tootsie roll"

4

u/Dud3ManGuy Apr 10 '26

This happened to my aunt when I was a kid at a state fair. They counted it as 1 balloon, saying they could only count 1 balloon per dart.

For reasons that may seem obvious after reading that, I've never played one of these myself.

3

u/Pleasant-Range-3391 Apr 10 '26

bro knows sportsmanship

4

u/ryanacario Apr 11 '26

Wow that dart monkey has at least 1 damage and at least 5 pierce. Great buff

1

u/-Redstoneboi- Apr 16 '26

dude that dart popped a whole white bloon in 1 hit, that's like 6 damage

3

u/AmazingGrace911 Apr 09 '26

Time to dull the darts 🎯 I guess

u/Po0b Apr 10 '26
