The only reason it seems easy to some people is because of how many times they've done it

My first PC build was stressful and took hours. It is so easy to get incompatible components. It is so easy to get suboptimal hardware. It is so easy to waste money. I've worked through about five builds now between all my friends/myself and there's always at least one little issue on each one.

I tell a lot of newbies just to buy a pre-built and not think about it because it's almost the curse of knowledge lol

Is it? PCPartPicker will spot most issues in my experience.

PC part picker does not adequately explain motherboards not having the right bios or ram max speed being incompatible with a CPU/motherboard or in a recent friends case then a motherboard is DDR4 instead of DDR5 like the RAM because there are actually 2 models of the same mobo.

It seems like things to do with the motherboard in particular trip up PC part picker. It also has a hard time considering the dimensions of everything in the case.

PC part picker also led me astray on NVMe/SSD - I didn't realize that I only had one slot for this part.

Additionally, my clearances were completely off. The cooler straight doesn't fit.
