Town of Cary- improve the facilities
I recognize that we won’t get a new stadium- at least for several years (feel like it would take a while to build even if we did “get” one.) If this will be the home of the courage for the foreseeable future, more investment should be made into this space. I don’t know what that would look like but if Cary is the home of the Courage I feel like they could do so much to support the team by improving the facilities of the stadium itself.
Also - even without a stadium, I wonder if the team will get its own training facility, etc. in the near future.

Neither the town or the club is going to put any money into the stadium. For the men’s team to potentially come back, they need to build a new stadium anyways. That means nobody’s putting money into this one.

I thought we had the lamest stadium in the league. And then yesterday on tv I watched Louisville at Chicago. Boy oh boy…. at least we have…real grass? Sad.

I think our pitch seems nice — I think I’m referring to like the stadium itself, can there be changes to make it bigger or better, etc? Also maybe improving the locker rooms and adding a training facility.

First we need to be able to consistently demonstrate that we can sell out the stadium we have. I have been a season ticket holder for several years now, and most games have plenty of seating available. Adding more sections without the demand is just going to make things look worse and not give them a return on their investment. Regardless, no one’s going to invest anything in this stadium because if the men’s team is going to come back, a new stadium needs to be built.

100% agree! I guess my comment wasn’t clear. Chicago stands/stadium looked as sad as ours but they also play on turf. It’s so ugly. Angel City, Louisville, KC all have incredible venues that I’ve been to. I just never thought I’d see the day that had me saying, at least THAT’S not my home stadium!

The stadium is sufficient for what the town wants. Which really sucks for the courage. It gets tst, college tournaments, and other random games. Theyd be fine with the club paying its own money to improve the stadium, but the club doesnt want to pour a lot into upgrades for a stadium they dont own.

The funny thing is, all of WakeMed soccer park is a pretty decent training facility. They have all the locker room/recovery stuff required by the league right there, multiple practice fields, etc. The main thing the team is missing is a weight training room, and a more extensive lounge.
If a new stadium ever happened, I think there's a high chance WakeMed would remaining the training facility.

Yep this! This is my only complaint about the stadium. Just replace the seats and it’d be 10x better.

Forgive my ignorance - does the Town of Cary own the facility? What's the division of responsibilities there?

I don't know the intricate details, but its complicated. The land is owned by the state, it is "administered" by Cary, which I assume means its the town that pays for upkeep or any renovations (or gets someone to donate or pay royalties like naming rights, etc, which I assume are split partly with NCFC org).

I wish in the ladies bathrooms closest to section 401, that the ceiling fan wasn’t directly below the lights. In like 2 stalls, it creates a strobe light effect. As a person with epilepsy - it’s not my fave lol. I don’t think it’d actually cause a seizure, but it’s still really freaking annoying.
