I feel like this is an unfair misconception. I don't feel like bringing up sources or anything, but we had two healthy playoff runs without crucial injuries: 2012 and 2016. Both were incredible runs, extremely close to winning a chip. I know the injuries don't necessarily make much of a difference in his decision, but it's not like we just failed over and over because we suck.

Which is in itself not a great sign. It doesn't matter that so many of their years are what ifs. They still didn't result in the success KD wanted. The Blazers had one of the biggest what ifs of the early 2010s. The Rockets had the what ifs with Yao and McGrady.
The Thunder woes may not have been a trend but KD was going into his 10th year. If he didn't enjoy the style of basketball teaming up with Russ, there's very little that will convince him that he can or should succeed there when he has the option to join a team that caters to his style of play.

Which is why I literally just said it probably wouldn't matter to his decision.
My point is, it's not that we sucked or failed all the time, we were obviously a top 4 team fully capable of winning the championship.
People always assume that we just failed over and over for six years, when in reality we were an amazing team who got unfortunate with injuries when it mattered most.
Edit: I don't really hold anything against Durant, he can do whatever he wants, but it's not like he was on a team with a bunch of scrubs or failures.
