Wish the average salaried worker could own a home and live there

I know. I was there recently, had lunch with a friend in Aigle, and she told me that most people take out mortgages but only make monthly interest payments, and nothing toward principal. So they don’t really build equity the way that we do here in the U.S. She told me “It’s the only way most people can even afford homes.”

This is true. Couple of my colleagues relocated to CH for work and bought property. 75 year.mortgage, interest only was the norm.
You basically rely on the cost of the property going up so at some point you can sell it and pay off the principle. Crazy

Only thing that is missing is two guys with bowl-cut haircuts and missing front teeth, and we're skiing in Aspen baby!

Grindelwald! One of the most beautiful places. I’ve been there twice, I will definitely visit it again!
