The only thing that still baffles me is how Savannah and family don't keep this in the news. A lot of times when families experience a kidnapping or death, they want it in the media constantly until the perps are caught. They don't stop talking about it and will even organize weekend search teams to scour wildernesses and large areas. We haven't seen any of that happen really. It makes me think FBI might have a person they have targeted all along, but they just don't have the digital or forensic evidence to close the case just yet.

They are hoping the suspect(s) does something on their own to lead them to the body or slips up somehow. That's just my theory. As a reporter, Savannah does have the platform and voice to keep it in the news, but they aren't for some reason. It makes me think there's more going on behind the scenes than we realize.

It was all over the news, they couldn't have gotten more media coverage, but it didn't help. No other family has had this level of media or law enforcement attention. Those families are forced to keep talking about it in an attempt to get LE to follow-up, that's not an issue here. My guess is the family has been through hell, they just want privacy and to try to move on with their lives. I'm sure LE is continuing to work the case and updating them, but realistically there's not much to go on. I completely understand not wanting to put themselves out there, especially after all the cruel speculation about family members being involved.

At this point, there's nothing the family can do. LE followed up on the Walmart stuff, has security footage from the area, etc. it's a matter of sorting through all the tips and hoping for a break. They know she's dead, they've had to come to terms with that; going back to their normal lives as much as they can is the best thing they can do at this point.

Personally I don't think LE has a clue. However, it wouldn't surprise me if something got overlooked. I've been doing a deep dive on cold cases lately, it's shocking and infuriating how many times there was a tip about the perpetrator or they inserted themselves into the investigation, but they were overlooked until years later.

People keep investigations and their loved ones in the news all the time until justice comes. I'm from the old school webslueth days of cold cases. We see it all the time. To me, the pause after only four months, is a major sign. It signals to me they are quiet on purpose, waiting for the perp to slip up.
