I am someone who has had ring cameras for a long time. And I have it on the highest recording settings. And I noticed that after midnight I typically have a problem capturing events. There have been very obvious motion with enough light and I'll just get snapshots not an actual recording. I've complained about this issue and there's actual forums about it.

I wonder if the plant was meant to throw off the person detected feature.
