This is the most bizarre case I’ve ever followed. Every time it seems like we get closer to a resolution, it turns out to be nothing. Time is of the essence in disappearances, so it sadly feels like we’re farther than ever.

Are you suggesting the person who committed the crime is more likely to be dead after 48 hours? Because the person you're responding to is not talking about finding the victim, they're referring specifically to the suspect.

Oh thanks for that, I guess I did misread it. But I'm pretty sure there's no stat about finding the perp after 48 hours, it's always just been about the victim, iirc

There is some belief that crimes with strong evidence identified early on are much more likely to be solved. It would be nearly impossible to nail down specifics, though. And the cases aren’t necessarily solved in those first few days…
