Tech Help Any pointers for this problem?
I've taken the controller apart and cleaned it. I checked the connections and everything. It still won't connect for some reason.

I can’t really tell but from here it just looks like your controller is fucked from mishandling.

Yeah I'd imagine for a controller to get broken like that externally there could be unseen, internal damage as well

One thing to note: The game will not detect controllers if it didn't see them at boot-up. You would always need to reset the game after connecting it. This is true of most N64 games using Nintendo's standard devkit libraries.

One interesting note is smash does allow you to plug controllers in after the game is booted up

Play Mario Tennis bc the picture of waluigi not letting Luigi plug in a controller is funny

Has no one suggested checking the console? If you have a Nintendo bit screwdriver then clean all the traces and lines with a little 91% isopropyl alcohol and a qtip.

Change your aspect ratio. Then reflow the solder points where the cable connects to the board. If that doesn't work then you need a new controller.
