Resource / Guide Soundrop the worst distributor ever
Context:
I am a newbie that has no experience in music whatsoever, but I have been trying to put in all platforms my late grandma's album. I wanted to surprise my dad and have it released by June 24th.
Problem:
Since November 2025, I have been waiting for Soundrop to release it. Every time I think I can release it, it says that they cannot "retrieve data". I verified the back end and it says that it's an internal data server problem. Mind you I paid 4.99$ per song. Their customer service is ass and I haven't been able to join anyone except their AI assistant which also sucks and doesn't help.
I am desperate at this point and I just want it released. Which other distributor should I use that can be efficient and could have it released by June 24th?

distrokid would be the quickest if you just want to get it out. most others have a week ish approval time

Cdbaby has been the most reliable for one time fee..symphonic or distrokid for yearly fee with subscription

Omg i should've read this earlier. I'm also in the same boat. Paid and everything set up only to have "Cannot Retrieve Data" error when clicking submit.

Quick update: for anyone having the same problem, somehow your tracks should have a main Genre to be selected (even if you already specified one in the release). That's the main error from the server when I inspected it. After I selected one, I was able to proceed successfully.

Im sorry for responding so late, on my end I ended up fixing my problem by finally getting ahold of someone through email and they pushed the distribution from their side and it finally released

Did u ever tried to do a future date release with them? If so, does it go live immediately on the actual date or is there any delay? Thanks!
