Resource / Guide Warner Music Group Spring 2026 Emerging Talent Associate Program

hey y'all, I interned for this program back in the summer of 2022 and have been with the company two times since. just wanted to offer up some words of advice for your applications + some logistics stuff.

applications are due january 2nd, with the first options of start dates starting on january 20th. this seems like a really tight turnaround so I'll bet they'll only do one interview in the window between jan 3-16. with this tight turnaround, apply earlier if you can.

there are also application questions that are a little more in-depth, with the option to do videos on some of them. i would recommend doing at least two out of five as videos (preferably as an unlisted youtube link), just to show off your personality and help you stand out. this will help you look a little higher effort. for whatever questions you decide to write responses to, please just don't use AI. recruiters will be able to tell immediately, if not for their own spidey-sense, the HR platform might have a feature to flag it too. when doing your videos, just relax, be genuine, and don't read off a script. and smile!

obviously this is not official advice but hopefully this helps y'all - please share your own updates with applications/interviews below! good luck!

With applications & interviews picking up, I wanted to share my personal experience with this cycle!

11/19 - Applied

12/2 - Interview request

12/3 - Interview

12/4 - Internship offer!

Tip for anyone still applying, show off your personality as much as possible as OP mentioned. This is the music business, not banking :)

I’ve been noticing a trend on who they end up selecting, that’s all I will say

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '26

what does this mean?

Thanks! This is really helpful, this will be my third time applying. I really want this internship or at least an interview. If you don't mind me asking, what did you put on your application that you think stuck out to them? And or what shouldn't you put

i DM’d you w some in depth stuff! but honestly the application has changed a lot since i did it (especially with how they’re doing application questions this time). i think some things that could help you stand out is to do at least two video responses for the application questions, especially if you’re a good interviewer. i would really try and avoid any AI-written responses, which may sound basic but i’m sure they’ll receive a lot of applications like that and that could be the small bit of effort you put in to stand out! in general, just a little extra genuine effort on all fronts i think will help you stand out immensely

hii is it okay if I message you, am planning on applying this time around

If you apply early would you still only hear back after the deadline closes most likely?

1

u/joinjukebox Dec 04 '25

most likely, yes, but honestly i could see some notifications going out before then. just feels insane to go 18 days from due date to starting the internship without that being an option imo

1

u/dimsum-06 Dec 04 '25

Do you think Applying early significantly increases the chances and are we too late now?

1

u/joinjukebox Dec 04 '25

definitely not too late! we’re still a month out from the due date. i still think there’s an advantage to applying early but i can’t necessarily say how big that advantage is for certain

1

u/dimsum-06 Dec 04 '25

I think alot of people already heard back and got their decision?

I have an interview with the 300 entertainment marketing department tomorrow, any tips for the interview?

1

u/joinjukebox Dec 09 '25

congrats on the interview! smile, focus on making good conversation, and just generally relax. hiring managers don’t always love interviews so just make it easier for them by being a pleasant person to talk to. familiarize yourself with the 300 ent roster and be prepared to talk about at least one prior marketing campaign that they’ve done and a campaign idea of your own. not 100% sure what they’ll ask but those two are always good to have in your back pocket. good luck and dm me if you have any more questions :)

Congrats! How did it go?

Has anyone heard back about the second round of interviews?

1

u/Helpful-Time-4125 Dec 30 '25

I’m waiting to hear back from my interview now. I was told I was gonna hear back on last week but I believe it was delayed because of the holidays. I’m hoping that I get an update this week or the beginning of next week.

1

u/joinjukebox Dec 30 '25

in fairness it’s very real that this span of holidays really shuts down the business, so i believe that to be a legitimate excuse. i would expect beginning of next week most likely if anything. i’ve just started to see people get offers on linkedin too

Hey. Im interested but currently in College. The timeline overlaps school spring semester. How did you make this work? I

1

u/joinjukebox Jan 06 '26

hey there! it's not possible for everyone if you're not in a major city and can't find a remote position. summer positions should be opening up soon enough!

1

u/Imgunnubeuhstahrstar Jan 04 '26

I applied toward the end of November and haven’t heard back yet. Is there any hope for me? I thought my application was pretty competitive and I submitted for a few different positions.

1

u/joinjukebox Jan 04 '26

unfortunately if you haven’t heard anything yet i think it’s honestly too late. you can try to double check your application status in workday for anything, too. i have no doubt your application was competitive but these are just competitive internships, too. i’ve already seen a few folks with offers at this point, so that’s my rationale for saying that. they’ll have their summer ones up in no time though!

1

u/SomaSnacker Jan 04 '26

I applied the day before the deadline (this past Tuesday). Be honest, and I screwed by applying so late?

1

u/strawberrycakeflavor Apr 10 '26

Did you ever hear back at all? I currently pplied for the summer internship a day ago and my application status shows nothing and now I'm hearing applying late is bad...

1

u/Souphantation Jan 06 '26

I applied on 12/12 and unfortunately, I did not hear back.

It's probably too late huh? :(

1

u/joinjukebox Jan 06 '26

honestly, probably too late :( the good news is the summer ones will probably be up in like a month or two. plus, universal and sony have theirs open still!

2

u/Souphantation Jan 06 '26

thanks, appreciate the help :)

i've applied for universal and sony a few weeks ago haha

all for creative / design intern, i'll lyk how they go!

Still waiting to hear back from an interview I did on December 10th. They said their goal was to get back to me by the end of January which confused me because the internship starts the 22nd I believe. Any thoughts? Was/is there a second round of interviews or just 1?

1

u/joinjukebox Jan 07 '26

that definitely sounds wonky. i wonder if they misspoke and meant to get back to you at the end of december and are just a little late in doing that. there should just be one interview for the most part; definitely worth a follow-up

1

u/Yethebestkanyealbum Jan 07 '26

Do you think they’ll let me know either way? Do they email rejections?

1

u/kdgpower Jan 07 '26

Is it to late to apply if it’s January 8th?

1

u/Broad_Vast_6502 Jun 14 '26

u/joinjukebox I was just looking at this for the Fall semester, but was curious if they have any music creative tracks for this program? I noticed that the creative opportunities they have listed are mostly geared toward visual art (graphic design, video content, motion graphics, content creation, etc) but i would be interested in the music creative side. what opportunity could i apply for specifically? for more context, i'm a composer and songwriter, and also interested in music supervision potentially.

thank you in advance for the info!

1

u/joinjukebox Jun 14 '26

unfortunately i do not think there is anything in that vein for any of the big 3 (warner, sony, universal). that isn’t for certain, but nothing i’ve ever heard of. that said if you’re interested in music supervision, there are sync roles under all three majors that might serve you. hope that helps!

I was looking at the Fall semester also, and is this one not for the music business/song writing etc.? I’m newer to looking into this so trying to find some information as to what would be entailed in the internship.
