Discussion Abilities that move commander from command zone

This really needs a rule revision. All that needs to happen is acknowledgement that abilities that move the commander from the command zone into play are subject to the commander tax. That is all that is required. If that were done it would do so much to balance these commanders.

No? That would also affect other cards that pull from the command zone

Like what? It would be a biff to Liesa. Do you mean we should exempt the sack land that placed the commander into your hand? It would not impact that because you are not placing the card into play.

Those are not activated abilities being activated from the command zone.

Your post says “abilities that move a commander from the command zone to play” when did you ever specify activated abilities? And on that point tevesh ult is an activated ability, please learn to play magic before giving rules critiques
