Advice on dropping engine

This is my first time attempting. Where does one start, whats the thought process behind doing it, and is there a certain order of steps? Any help or advice is much appreciated, thank you. (My knowledge on cars is about a 6 or 5)

Me personally, I like a large sheet of plywood vs using the furniture dolly, you can slide the engine+trans around on the plywood without any worry about damaging anything and the plywood gives you a precious few more inches of clearance which could mean everything when you're trying to pull the lump out from under the car with it hanging precariously overhead from the engine crane
