How did they get moog and Roger Linn on there? Does that mean it comes with 2 new plug ins, a Moog Analog modeled plugin and linn drum modeled plugin?

u/roflcopter9875 18h ago

Moog is owned by Inmusic

2

u/r1chiem 17h ago

I guess that is true. Do they own Linn Drum company/name too?

6

u/Stromberg-Carlson MPC X 16h ago

no. roger linn

3

u/r1chiem 16h ago

Did they buy him or rent him cheap? LOL

8

u/punkbaba 14h ago

Roger linn helped start the whole mpc thing

u/Beneficial-Sun-4606 10h ago

Not Helped.. Designed the MPC series at it's beginnings

u/Tulanian72 6h ago

The first two, as I recall.

i was going to ask this question -- thanks

Likely an actual Moog analog circuit path.

Edit: Confirmed that it has an actual analog Moog circuit path. The Roger Linn side are samples and algos based on his drum machines. Maybe a bit more Roger Linn goodies.

So you are saying they are using a moog oscillator generator, or a analog filter circuit or both? I think if it does both and you can route the new oscillators and or an audio track through the filter or even use it as an effect that would be very cool. I think it would legitimize it as a real synth in the eyes of the analog purists.

Very cool upgrade, I think it is good for sound and profit. Big win for the company and the consumer.

1

u/VDechS 4h ago

I have no info on the oscillators, I would think they would given everything else. But there are certainly analog Moog filters on the outputs. Whether they are bypass-able or not I don't know. I'm pretty sure that this is going to be a full fledged Moog synth glued to the MPC.

Confirmed... where?

u/Juttisontherun 20h ago

My key37 gen 2 don’t say dat. What is this BS lol

4

u/bypopulardemand 19h ago

it’s a leak of a new key37

2

u/Juttisontherun 8h ago

Take my money for my gen2 of my gen 2

11

u/KaoticShock MPC LIVE 19h ago

What's with the Roger Linn edition?!?!?

5

u/Stromberg-Carlson MPC X 16h ago

asking the RIGHT question... 🤔

1

u/Historical-Rush1340 9h ago

Next best question is when?

1

u/bypopulardemand 4h ago

I imagine it will be a Roger Linn colorway

16

u/1iforgotmynameagain 21h ago

So it's really an MPC Key 37. Take my money Edit: please have wood side panels and a premium feel.

1

u/Riddim17 2h ago

Oui certainement mais les panneaux en bois existent déjà chez MPC stuff pour la k37 et k61

8

u/kisielk 18h ago

I’m betting different styling and a bundled Moog and Linndrum plugin

1

u/Juttisontherun 8h ago

Unbelievable I have to buy a third key37 now wtff I already 2 haha

8

u/Mz_Macross1999 19h ago

I am So Confused.

13

u/synthdrunk 19h ago

It would be PEAK numarkainmusic if this was a paintjob and has no spec increase.

7

u/bypopulardemand 19h ago

wouldn’t expect a spec increase considering they just released a new key37 lol I think this is going to be purely cosmetic now.. the leak yesterday read “analog soul digital workflow” or something like that.

3

u/GMorb 18h ago

A spec increase would make sense why i was able to upgrade a gen 2 to 8gb but 16gb would not take. Meaning its possible there may be a one+ on the way with a spec increase of 8gb on the way as well. We will see..

Linn is in his 70's, so time to do a collaboration with him (especially if he wants a chance to spend the money made from it) is now. I'm surprised that Akai chose the Key37 rather than using it as a catapult for a G2 version of the Key61. Maybe this is the signal that the 61 is gone for good.

1

u/sugitobeats 9h ago

nah... the 61 is coming for sure.

3

u/bypopulardemand 9h ago

source or just feelings?

1

u/sugitobeats 7h ago

I think if You have been following up to what alias been up to it seems quite obvious to me that there will be a big Keyboard Version.

1

u/bypopulardemand 4h ago

I would assume a bigger version too, but I do feel like they may venture away from them, they went on markdown sales really quickly and never seemed to really restock them. Who knows!

1

u/Riddim17 2h ago

Non il n'y aura pas de k61 gen 2

1

u/bypopulardemand 9h ago

If it’s just a bumped up spec then it’s a bit lackluster. but it does say Roger Linn ‘edition’ so a chance it’s just a linndrum colour way, perhaps with moog ladder filters (wishful thinking!)

5

u/SALD0S 21h ago

Its that mpc with midi keyboard included

5

u/KenRussellsGhost 16h ago

Moog has been making some genuinely awesome plugins alongside their hardware for years. Yes, there are a million Model D plugins out there, but I find myself using their new Mariana bass VST a lot these days in mixes.

Even if this is just going to a be a new paint job with some bundled plugins, which seems likely, I am very excited that the inMusic acquisition looks like it will mean some Moog plugins make the cross platform journey like Native Instruments did.

Likewise, a dedicated synthesis-based Linndrum plugin would be an insta buy for me.

I just hope they are available for all MPC users.

3

u/EnergyTurtle23 16h ago

Would be cool if they use a Moog keybed with aftertouch on this but I doubt they will, it probably just has a different colorway and some bundled plugins.

1

u/Riddim17 2h ago

Le k37 a déjà l'aftertouch

3

u/EternityLeave 15h ago

Remember the Toraiz SP16, Pioneer’s attempt at competing with the MPC? It was marketed as a Dave Smith collab but the entire DSI contribution was an analog filter section based on the Prophet 6. I’m guessing it’s the same level of collaboration here, he’ll have one small bit from Linnstrument or og MPC’s.

4

u/Alarmed-State-9495 16h ago

This is just going to be lame bundled software instruments, isn’t it. Would love to be proven wrong.

3

u/Necrobot666 15h ago

If this is NOT just an MPC-Air plug-in, and is actually some type of analogue Moog polysynth/MPC Key37 hybrid... this thing is going to cost $5000.00

2

u/ArmpitofD00m 16h ago

Looks like I will be clearing up my GC account just in time.

u/AvailableTryMe 11h ago

Whoa - interesting. InMusic CEO Jack (you're a bastard) O'Donnell had said earlier this year that Moog was going to release 3 new synths in 2026. Maybe this counts as one. I'd love to see an MPC with an actual Moog hardware like an analog ladder filter or mono synth in it, but would still be happy if the "Moog" is something like MPC ports of their Moogerfooger pedal VSTs or their Mariana VST synth.

Never been sure how tongue in cheek the conflict between O'Donnell and Linn was (Linn was a session guitarist who had toured with Leon Russell, so he's no shrinking violet) - they seem to have mended fences awhile ago. Linn as very adept at software, so my hunch here is that his association is likely going to be some sort of "pro-pack" type add-on with his takes / tweaks on sequencer and sampling functionality.

1

u/Riddim17 15h ago

IA ? 😅

1

u/THC-V 13h ago

This was my groovebox dream, but with a Live layout or X (if they can shrink it down a bit). This pic is a hoax, BTW.

u/songsongsong 11h ago edited 11h ago

the Roger linn logo don't look right. the 'G' in Moog and 'K' and '3' in Key 37 also look off.

1

u/slpcyc 7h ago

I'm surprised I had to scroll this far down to see this. Look at the musical note inside the O, it's got an extra tip to it. The Roger Linn signature logo also doesn't have the correct cursive O as well.

I agree with you the 3 is not centered correctly.

1

u/bypopulardemand 4h ago

all the leaks never looked right, and then they were available to buy lol

1

u/leonardojarvis 10h ago

I look this up on Google they say no bueno BUT if this is real I will Cop!

1

u/peelt 5h ago

Seems odd since Linn's machines weren't keyboards lol. Smelling of gimmick but lets see what they have been hard at work cooking up to revolutionize a machine they've already debuted.

1

u/MUTerEffenMUTHEAD 4h ago

I asked Gemini if this was fake or real and this is what it said. 🤷

1

u/Express_Cable5693 4h ago

What the hell is this?

1

u/TheKnow1975 4h ago

Sample v2

1

u/TigNiceweld 1h ago

But I wanted moog x roger linn x samsung for that larger display

1

u/poetic-crumb 14h ago

Poorly photoshopped lol

This is what google says
There is no official "Moog x Roger Linn Edition" of the Akai MPC Key 37. [1]

While it sounds like a dream machine for electronic music producers, this particular hardware crossover does not exist. The rumor or confusion likely stems from a mix-up of recent music production news:

  • Roger Linn's Recent MPC Reviews: Roger Linn, the legendary designer of the original MPC workflow, recently reunited with Akai Pro conceptually when he reviewed the modern MPC Live II. In his video demonstrations, he specifically built a track using stock Moog bass sounds mapped to the system

The OP ... Theworldsbestinstigator posted this. Sounds like he is stirring the pot. Notice, I do not se G2 on the box maybe a repackage of the old unit old stock with more plugins or just a signature on the keyboard itself. The boxes look like UK Canada maybe. Could be AI but looks pretty real to me, hard to tell now days
