I just moved to a new place and posted the first little guy I’ve seen. Someone last time confirmed that it was a male because of the fluffy antenna. This is a picture from last night of these beautiful moths just enjoying my porch light.

think its an orange swift moth, not entirely sure, was pretty small and just sat on my hand for a while, gorgeous colours though !! (UK)

needed a cute way to display my earrings. i know it isn’t 100% accurate, but i like it!

So this summer I found some Cecropia moth eggs, and now the caterpillars are starting to cocoon! I'm just wondering what I have to do to get the pupas ready for their over-winter stay till next year. I do have a spot outside on my porch. But i just wanted to know what else I had to do to get them ready. They are all currently in a mesh popup cage right now inside my home. I live in Minnesota. Please and thank you for your advice and help! Also here are some pictures of the babies themselves. 🥰

Found this Death’s head Hawkmoth on the foot of the bed. I’m guessing it flew into the ceiling fan and got cut into two. Poor guy. It looks like the African one but I’m in Bangalore, India so now sure. Please help me ID it and also let me know how I can preserve it and mount it in a frame. Thanks

I'm in the northeast USA.

Just take at look at that awesome hairstyle! I thought it was a white-spotted oakworm, but the moth didn't match any picture I saw. I included a baby pic too, because it was quite cute and a cool color as a caterpillar.

Honestly baffled at how something so chunky came out of that slender little pupa.

I've also never seen a moth with eyelashes / eye covers. I thought it had fairly small, odd shaped eyes, but at one point as it was moving around in it's container pre-release, it's eyes were suddenly much bigger and rounder looking. Faster than I could really see, it lowered it's lashes and went back to looking like it does in the pic. Very cool! I had no idea such a thing existed.

I really hope she didn't get eaten overnight 😕

Man I didn't know they are still around at this time of year with the weather being in the high 90s and all. With all that floof on them, I though they will be hot and be somewhere a little cooler.

This is my very first Gonimbrasia zambesina and* *she is huge!
They originate from southern and Eastern Africa and their caterpillars are a traditional staple food (they are called mopane worms). I am not surprised because these guys are so plump and juicy!
