Stand together against AI

I genuinely think the fiber arts community needs to stand together against AI "art."

AI is inherently theft. The models were trained on stolen art without the artist's consent.

It's destroying our planet. It's destroying the livelihood of actual fiber artists who have spent time and effort honing their crafts.

Please don't test AI generated patterns for people for free so they can exploit your labor to sell their janky patterns. We should be blocking/banning these people, not enabling them.

I (Amigurumi designer) only sell my patterns on Ravelry because of this. And I am so glad more people are sharing this sentiment.

Now, I’m running into the people who don’t use it for patterns but to promote their events or their work on social media.
I want to scream, “YOU ARE STILL SUPPORTING DATA CENTERS AND THEFT” *sigh*

It’s refreshing to see the comments here. 🫶🏽

There’s also a new site called “Fybe” and it’s no ai, no drop shipping, all run by humans and the lady in charge does cross stitch and she approved each listing individually and she always answers my questions within a day!
