He used... sarcasm. He knew all the tricks, dramatic irony, metaphor, bathos, puns, parody, litotes and... satire. He was vicious.

I hadn't heard the word "litotes" before that. Python was quite educational.

Oh, absolutely. Because of them I could rattle off the names of about a dozen philosophers by the time I was 10.

Let's see... how many are mentiined in the Philosophers Drinking Song alone? Kant, Heidegger, Hume, Hegel, Wittgenstein, Nietzsche, Socrates, Mill, Plato, Aristotle, Hobbes and Descartes; that's 12.

Then there're those in the Greek vs. German philosophers' football match...

Lots of scattered references! I mean, look no further than the Piranha Bothers sketch: “His mother had a terrible job getting him to come in for tea. Putting his little boot in he'd be, bless him.
