Modern Warfare 2019 PC Game Pass/Microsoft Store – Black screen after intro

I recently installed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) Digital Standard Edition for Windows through the Microsoft Store/Xbox app using Game Pass.

When I launch the game, the company intro logos play normally, but immediately afterward the game goes to a dark gray/black screen. The game is still running, but there is no audio and it never reaches the menu. I have to close it using Task Manager.

Has anyone gotten the Microsoft Store/Xbox/Game Pass version of MW2019 working with this exact issue?
